establ ished in 2010 to help bui ld UH
System pre-engineer ing pathways
support ive of Nat ive Hawai ian students.
APPLICATION
WHO WE AREHawai ʻ i Calculus Academy is a math-
and engineer ing intensive s ix-week
summer br idge program for Nat ive
Hawai ians and other minor i t ies in
engineer ing and STEM.
Students wi l l bui ld core math and
engineer ing ski l ls needed to complete
the degree and obtain a career in a
cul tural ly-support ive environment. After
the summer program, student wi l l
cont inue toreceive academic support
throughout the year.
Program wi l l run al l -day dur ing Summer
Session I .
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Take MATH 205, MATH 206, or MATH
231 in the morning. Summer tui t ion is
FREE for your calculus and SCI 295
courses, and we wi l l provide lunch.
EARN FREE CREDITS
In the af ternoon, you' l l work on an
engineer ing project that impacts our local
community and learn ski l ls needed in the
workforce.
ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING
HANDS-ON ENGINEERING
At the end of the program,you' l l present at our ʻ IKE summer symposium,
where students f rom al l 6 campuses gather to share their projects wi th fami ly, facul ty, professionals, and
community members.

We're looking for 10 Native Hawaiian students who are interested in
engineer ing and who are ready to take
calculus I , I I , or I I I .
Women and other STEM minor i t ies are
also encouraged to apply.
