With its revolutionary technology, the Quidenus RBSpro belongs to an innovative generation of fully automatic book scanners. It opens up new possibilites for users to permanently store old scripts and books and make them accessible and searchable with it´s implemented technologies such as optical character recognition (OCR).

During developement of the QiScan RBSpro, special attention was paid to realizing a gentle page turning technology while creating a workflow that has the greatest possible efficiency and the lowest labor input.

1. PREPARATION:The books are registered on any number of PC workplaces simultaneously, using the intuitive RBSDatabase software.

The database provides the metadata for each book which can be either imported or created in order to later allocate the digital copys of the book. The user also chooses all the post-processing steps such as OCR.

Since the preparation of the book is outsourced and not done at the machine terminal, the throughput of the machine increases significantly.

2. RBS CAPTURING: Start-and-Forget

The user inserts the book in the machine and pres-ses the start button.

All information which is relevant for the scanning process is loaded from the database via RFID or using the selection on the terminal.

The interaction of the user is limited to loading and unloading the books.

It is thus possible that a user can operate up to 5 QiScan RBSpros at the same time.

3. QUALITY CHECK + ISSUING:The 3rd step includes the post-processing as well as the export of the digital books, using various standard formats.

The intelligent software allows the user to quickly check with a few clicks the digital book that has undergone automated post-processing and to make corrections or add functions to it.

This makes the quality assurance scaleable and adjusted to the needs of the user.

The Qidenus RBSmodule is the result of the successful cooperation with the leading scanner manufacturer Zeutschel and forms an inexpensive alternative for upgrading an existing manual book scanner.

The QiScan RBSmodule uses the proven RBS page turning technology, was however specially adjusted for the use with an overhead scanner.

The module can be simply attached to all book scanners and in no time changes these into fully automatic book scanners which automatically turn pages and scan them.

With the development above all attention was paid to the simple integration of the module in the existing system.
