Our HistoryEstablished in 1972, RA-LIN has been in continuous operation under the management of its founder, Ray Ful-ford, CEO, and Ben Garrett, President. We have successfully completed projects throughout the Southeast. We have maintained a leadership role in every competitive construction market with a core of well trained, experienced personnel. Today full-time employees include certified estimating professionals, planning and scheduling experts, LEED accredited professionals, certified BIM professionals, and OSHA certified trainers.

To assure a successful project, early feasibility studies and design development must be supported by construction cost estimators. The process starts with planning, and is supported by conceptual or order-of-magnitude estimates. Only then should design proceed to a schematic design (SD) stage, followed by a design development (DD) stage and culminate in a construction document (CD) state. RA-LIN’s Precon-struction Services grew out of construction cost estimating to encompass the other activities in planning a project. The intent is to work with the project’s Owner to help deliver a satisfactory project that meets the Owner’s objectives. In addition to estimating, our pre-construction team participates in design deci-sions, site evaluations, sustainability studies, value engineering, value analysis, scheduling, constructability reviews, and more. Design costs, permitting, land acquisition, and life-cycle costs may also be evaluated. In delivering pre-construction services, RA-LIN may also be negotiating for project construction services. This is accomplished by agreeing on a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the project.
Construction services incorporate our philosophy on quality and safety. Quality Assurance begins with the development of high quality construction documentation assured by our Preconstruction Services. RA-LIN has an on-going commitment to safety by everyone in our organization from upper management to our on-site employees. We require subcontractors, material suppliers and anyone who visits our site to em-brace the same commitment to quality and safety. On time delivery within budget is our strength.

Post Construction Services include: Commissioning, As-Built Drawings, Digital Operations & Maintenance Manuals, Facilities Staff Training, Final and a One Year Walk Through!

Quality ControlBefore quality at the job site can be achieved, the necessary preliminary work must be done to assure the proper materials are delivered on a timely basis. This is accomplished through thorough review of shop drawings, and through consultations with the subcontractors and material suppliers who also furnish materials to the job site.
Once the materials are delivered to the job site, our superintendent follows a systematic process of inspection and reviews designed to flag any deficiencies occurring in the workmanship or installation of materials. If deficiencies are noted, they are immediately corrected.
RA-LIN has taken positive steps to assure Quality Control. We first strive to conform to the plans and specifications, which we believe is the first step in quality control. Secondly, we add the subjective assurance that each project will be constructed to the level of quality we would want if we were the Owner.

Safety ProgramAn additional factor contributing to the success of our projects is a well-defined Safety Program. We employ a full-time Corporate Safety Manager. Upon employment, every employee receives a personal copy of our Safety Program/Sub-stance Abuse Policy. Each job is visited periodically by members of our safety staff to assure compliance with our safety requirements and to assist in educating employees about safety procedures. RA-LIN also provides classes in safety train-ing and problem recognition for supervisory personnel.
Our superintendents are always reminded of the importance of safety. They conduct weekly safety meetings on each job site where employees are reminded and charged to work in a safe manner. IOA, our insurance carrier, makes frequent on-site inspections for the purpose of prevention. A written report is made summarizing each visit, and our superinten-dents immediately implement any recommendations made. Monthly loss reports are reviewed at the corporate level for early detection of problem areas. Should a specific problem be found, possible corrective action is discussed with the project manager and appropriate action is taken. All subcontractors and their personnel are by contract subject to these safety rules while working on our projects.
