Medical Air Transport This medical air transport unit is designed for propjets and jet air- craft. The ambulance package was designed to be used in dedicated air ambulance operations. However, it is possible to purchase just the basic transport unit, making it attractive for the corporate or "on call" EMS operator, with a conversion time of approximately 30 minutes from the executive to the ambulance configu- ration. If the user's require- ments change, the stored program can be easily reprogrammed by an authorized technician. Available in both under-dash and trunk-mount configuration. The Impe- rial survival suit provides 12 hours expected survival time in 35 ° F water. The suit's built-in, 22 pounds of buoyancy will keep the wearer afloat even if it becomes completely flooded. It can be donned in about one minute and fits over clothing. Features include rescue whistle and rescue light (both required by law), buddy line, waterproofed face seal and optional lifting harness. Twin Engine Helicopter The BK 117 incorporates many of the proven features of the highly regarded and experienced BO 105 Twin Jet III helicopter, including high ground clearance main and tail rotors, high corrosion resistance, twin engine safety and the highest power-to-weight ratio of any heli- copter in its class, according to the manufacturer. Box 2349, West Chester, PA 19380. q m 4t.r Life Support Products, Inc., an Irvine, California-based manufacturer and dis- tributor of oxygen systems, trauma/burn products and rescue equipment, recently announced the acquisition of Elder Oxygen Company, Inc. of San Diego. "The acquisi- tion will provide an expanded product base and a quality product line that can be easily integrated into Life Support Products' sys- tem," according to LSP's President, Robert Hovee. All operations of Elder Oxygen will be relocated to the new LSP facility in Irvine. Dave Elder, who founded the company in 1961 and invented the Elder Oxygen Valve, will stay on with LSP as a consultant and advisor on new and existing products. Actress Debby Boone will play the lead- ing role in "Life Flight," a new movie by International Cinema Artists Corpora- tion (ICAC). Based loosely on the development of the Life Flight emergency helicopter program at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, the film is being targeted toward the religious market worldwide. It will also be distributed in video stores, and appear on Christian television networks. Filming is scheduled to start this fall in Des Moines, Iowa. ICAC is known for its award- winning film, "The Miracle Man," an inspira- tional, true story about a man's triumph over massive injuries suffered in a plane crash. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, idaho now has Life Flight aeromedical transport service. Life Flight uti- lizes a medically configured Bell LongRanger to provide rapid advanced life support and critical care transport for the regions of Central and Southern Idaho, Northern Nevada, and Eastern Oregon. Each team is composed of a flight nurse, flight paramedic, and EMS pilot. William Doyle, MD, is the medical director for Life Flight, and Michael McGrane, RN, is the program coordinator. The Metro Life Flight program at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital now features the use of three Sikorsky S-76 The Sikorsky S-75 in flight. helicopters. To date, the program has under- taken over 3,000 critical care transports, and is among the 10 largest programs of the 115 operating in the U.S., consisting of a network of 53 hospitals.
