Industrial Relations, Negotiations & Collective Bargaining
Pertinent Discussion Points: Who Should Attend
Labour legislation around Africa remains one of the biggest challenges facing governments, companies and managers at
large. Labour law seeks to regulate the relations between an employer or a class of employers and their employees. The
access of this law is the widest, in that it touches the lives of far more people, indeed millions of men and women as
compared to any other branch of law. While the employer has a fundamental right to run his business, his right has to be
adjusted with the employee’s right to social justice. The former pertains to the realm of fundamental rights in our
Constitution, the latter to the realm of the Directive Principles. The Ultimate aim is to have peace in industry so that
production may increase and the national economy may grow. To ensure that you are adequately informed and trained up
to date on labour and industrial issues in Namibia, this event offers participants a chance for companies to avoid going to
court and prevent future labour relations disputes. Labour laws provide numerous benefits to employees, such as
minimum wage, on-site safety standards, workers compensation and other laws intended to ensure workers' rights in their
relationship with their employers. This event will furthermore, equip delegates and companies with best practices which
can assist anyone to get the best out of their internal staff. This training will provide delegates with appropriate
knowledge, and skills in labour & industrial relations. After this event participants will gain proper skills and managerial
expertise that will enable them to swiftly solve all labour law relations matters. Delegates will also appreciate Namibia's
legal framework on labour issues pertaining procedures of mediation & bargaining councils.
