INTRODUCTIONSatellite are an attractive option for carrying Internet &other IP traffic across the globe. But the internet protocol which we use on land are not optimized for satellite.T he Sky X Technology is the evolution of XTP & SKY X gateway .

Why sky x Tec hnology ?Internet protocols( TCP/IP ) are not optimized forsatellite conditions so the throughput over the satellitenetworks decreases to only a fraction of availablebandwidth.Satellites are ideal for providing internet & private networkover long distance.the satellite conditions adversely interact with a number of elements of the TC P architecture, including it s windowsizing, congestion avoidance algorithms & dataacknowledgment mechanisms.

effective in the satellite link. So it was desirable to design aseparate protocol for communication through the satelliteto eliminate the disadvantages of using TC P over satellite

XpressT

ransport protocol ( XTP).T ranslates the data back to TC P for communication withthe server.No changes are required to the client or server and allapplications continue to function without modification.
