MAXIMUM ELECTRICAL INSULATION In accordance with the standards EN 61340-2.3 par. 8.1 and 8.2 with ref. to ISO 1853, IEC 60167, HD 568 S1 and IEC 61340-4-5 - IEC 64-4/8/6 par. 6.12.5 - IEC 60167 - HD 568 S1, M.M.’s gratings are classified as excellent insulators in compliance with safety standards.

NON-SLIP FEATURES M.M.’s gratings are classified as slip resistance classes from R10-V4 to R13-V10 in accordance with the DIN 51130 standard; they are suitable for pedestrian and vehicle traffic with all finishes according to the BS 7976-2 standard.

REACTION TO FIREM.M.’s self-extinguishing products are classified B

fl-s1 according to the EN 13501-

1 standard. A2-s1 (EN 13501-1) and M1 F1 (AFNOR NF P 92-507 and AFNOR NF F 16-101) products can be supplied upon request.

M.M. has obtained the approval by the Eisenbahn-

Bundesamt (EBA) – German Federal Railway

Authority – to supply Deutsche Bahn (DB) with a

high number of gratings. EBA is in charge of more

than 38,000 kilometres of railway lines nationwide.

M.M.’s FRP cable duct system is ideal for the protection of cables and the distribution of electricity. Maximum flexibility and safety are guaranteed by the intrinsic characteristics of the material and the wide range of modules of different sizes and scales, covers, junctions, reducers, elbows and mounting brackets. The system is the ideal solution for distribution to substations along the line within a tunnel.

COVERAGE OF RAINWATER CHANNELS

FRP gratings are an exceptionally valid alternative to traditional materials (concrete and steel) in the construction of rainwater channel coverings. Electrically insulating, they are extremely light to handle and feature high non-slip coefficients; hence, they have all the essential features for use in environments along the line.

ELETRIC CABLE CONDUITS & PITS

M.M. manufactures FRP coverings, which are the ideal solution to cover pits and cable conduits in railway stations and electrical substations. The coverings, featuring a non-slip surface finishing, provide adequate load-bearing capacity for the expected traffic in accordance with the technical specifications of electrical distribution bodies. M.M. can also provide FRP self-anchoring or steel bracketed frames.

PEDESTRIAN LEVEL CROSSINGS FOR SERVICE PERSONNEL OR THE PUBLIC

Manufactured with FRP gratings featuring covered or heel-proof mesh, with a high non-slip coefficient, mounting clips in stainless steel, adjustable PP supports and cover plates for hanging hooks, these products can be easily adapted to in-tra-line geometries including railroad switches and can be easily fixed using brackets that can suit any rail infrastruc-ture. Available for a variety of loads and in various colours, they ensure highest versatility and safety.

ALONG THE LINE

SLOPED STAIRWAYS FOR ACCESS TO EMBANKMENTS

Manufactured using pultruded profiles and FRP gratings, the stairways are designed according to the characteristics of rail-way embankments in accordance with the requirements of EN ISO 14122-3. Equipped with hand rails and landings, they allow safe access to the tracks for line maintenance operators even in adverse weather conditions. During installation they are easy to handle and adapt to the site conditions without the use of specific equipment.

AN ANSWER TO EVERY NEED GATES

M.M.’s FRP gates, which are made with pultruded profiles and gratings, stand out from traditional steel solu-tions because they are lightweight and feature high dimensional stability and dielectric properties.

With single or double wings, gates are CE marked in accordance with the EU Construction Products Regulation No. 305/2011 and they are tested according to the UNI EN 13241-1 standard.

OVERPASS INSULATION

When dealing with the potential danger of contact with medium voltage cables, the elec-trical insulation of overpasses becomes fundamental. This problem can be solved by using FRP sandwich panels fixed to steel soffit structures by means of threaded FRP rods. The system ensures maximum electrical insulation and requires no maintenance, which is particularly convenient given the difficult access to this infrastructure .

FENCING SYSTEMS AND PROTECTIONS

M.M.’s FRP fences are manufactured using pultruded profiles and FRP gratings. They are a competitively priced alternative to traditional mate-rials. They are supplied in pre-assembled modules for easy handling and quick on-site installation with stainless steel base brackets or embedded poles. Shapes, colours and finishes are designed to suit customers’ needs and they combine maximum electrical insulation with high versatility. In addition to their use as permanent fences, they can also be used to temporarily enclose work sites along the line.

M.M.’s gratings are the perfect choice for the walkways in service pits thanks to their ease of handling and durability, as well as their high non-slip coefficient even in the presence of oil.
