RESEARCH EXPERTISE:
• Strong background in the synthesis of non-proteinogenic amino acids and unnatural
amino acids with proteinogenic side-chains.(β-amino acids, γ-amino acids, α,β-
dehydro γ-amino acids, β-keto-γ-amino acids and statins) and their usage in the de
novo designed secondary and super-secondary structures.
• Extensive experience in design and solution/solid phase peptide synthesis.
• Structural analysis of peptides.
• Experienced in design, synthesis and characterisation of peptide system that self
assembles into supramolecular structures like hydrogel, nanotubes and vesicles.
• Experienced in synthesis of liposomes (nano-vesicles) and kinetics studies of
liposome encapsulated drug release.
• Developed new synthetic methodologies for peptide bond synthesis and synthesis of
-amino acids.
• Routine experience in purification of peptides of various lengths using HPLC.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
• NMR: Extensive experience for solving the secondary structural conformation of
peptides and hybrid foldamers using 2D NMR.
• SC-XRD: Experienced in operation of single crystal X- ray diffractometer and
solving the crystal structures of small peptides.
• Isothermal Titration calorimeter (ITC): Skilled to operate ITC instrument (iTC200
from Microcal) efficiently and carry out thermodynamics of peptide ligand
interactions.

• Peptide synthesizer: Extensive experience in synthesis of peptides on solid phase
using peptide synthesizer
• MALDI TOF/TOF: Routinely operated MALDI TOF/TOF instrument to characterise
synthesized peptides and mini-proteins.
• CD: Experienced to operate CD instrument to interpret secondary structures of
peptides and proteins.
• HPLC: Extensively used the HPLC for purification of various peptides and mini-
proteins.
• AFM, SEM and TEM: Good experience in sample preparation and morphology
interpretation of peptide superstructures using these microscopic techniques.
• Rheometry: Experienced in characterization of visco-elastic properties of peptide
hydrogel.
