Cross Country JumpsCross Country JumpsCross Country Jumps Working BeeWorking BeeWorking Bee The time has finally come. This
weekend we will be starting to
build our cross country jumps un-
der the guidance of Jim Page, presi-
dent of NMZ and expert jumps
builder.
Jim will be joining us at around
9:00am on Saturday the 14th. We’ll
spend the first hour getting organ-
ised and then we’ll hop into it.
Weather permitting we’ll also
give the jump poles a paint. The
black and white ones need to be
toned down a notch, the blue and
white ones are getting a bit tired
and need to be refreshed while
those black, red, and white ones
keep fading and reappearing.
So please bring work clothes, any
spare paint, heavy duty power
tools; we’re working with sizable
timber, and some muscle. Please
call Stefan on 0466 471 902 to dis-
cuss when you can make it and
what tools you may be able to bring. We’ll continue on Sunday dur-
ing the rally.

Just a Horse
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse," or, "that's a lot of
money for "just a horse".
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for
"just a horse." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a horse."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse," but I did not once
feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a horse,'
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a horse" gave me comfort and
reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a horse," then you will probably understand phrases like
"just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbri-
dled joy.
"Just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a horse" I will rise
early, take long walks and look long-
ingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just
a horse" but an embodiment of all the
hopes and dreams of the future, the
fond memories of the past, and the pure
joy of the moment.
"Just a horse" brings out what's good in
me and diverts my thoughts away from
myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can under-
stand that it's not "just a horse" but the
thing that gives me humanity and keeps
me from being "just a woman/man."
So the next time you hear the phrase
"just a horse", just smile, because they
"just" don't understand.

As outlined on page 1, this rally weekend we’ll
be attacking the cross country jumps and other
jumps cleanup tasks.
Any time you can give us between 9:00am and
4:00pm will be greatly appreciated. We also
need to setup a couple of show jumping rings
during the day for Sunday’s rally. So while
there’s planning and contemplation going on
there will still be plenty of worthwhile jobs to be
done.
If anyone has a chain saw they can bring to cut
some of the larger logs and timbers it would
make the work much easier. Please call me on
0466 471 902 to let me know if you can.
We’ll need power tools such as cordless drills,
large power saws, planers. As we plan to build
some steps in the mound to the rear of the non-
owners ring we’ll also need some digging tools,
picks, crow bars, sledge hammers, etc. Finally
hammers and socket sets for heavy duty nails
and coach bolts.
We’ll be cleaning up a few jump poles with a
paint job and try to do a bit of tidy up of the stor-
age sheds.
We’re planning to like to put on a BBQ for lunch.
So across all of that there should something that
suits everyone’s talents. We hope to see as many
families on the day as possible.

Rosemary has managed to secure the sausage
sizzle slot at Bunnings at Vermont South on the
11th of September from 8am to 4pm. These are
usually great fund raisers and being the week-
end after father’s day we’re hoping there’ll be
plenty of traffic with fathers looking for ways to
spend their Bunnings father’s day vouchers.
