Importance of Ramadan

Ramadan is the holy month of fasting for Muslims.

It is one of the five pillars of Islam. This makes it very important therefore fasting is fardh on Muslims who are healthy. Muslims have to make up the missed fasts after the month of Ramadan.

This month is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

This is the month in which the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammed PBUH.

In this month you can earn more hasanaa from Allah SAW then any other month.

Fasting

In the month of Ramadan , Muslims have to fast from dawn to the sunset of the day. Before dawn Muslims perform sahoor in which they eat so they can fast for the day. The sahoor time ends when the adhan for Fajr salah is called . Muslims have a fast-breaking time in the evening called Iftaar. Muslims can break their fast after hearing the adhan before the adhan for the Magrib prayers. In Iftaar they usually eat many different types of delicious foods made for this occasion with family.
