(ONLY FOR BOYS) 1. A Candidate can apply for as many subjects
as he may choose. Students who have passed H.S./ equivalent Examinations in 2021 / 2020 can apply.
Students who have passed before 2020 cannot apply.
2. Admission of students will be done fully on the merit basis. Towards this, the college has designed different specific methods for specific subjects. However, the entire process will be online.
3. While filling up online admission form Students must write their Gmail id and phone number with utmost care. [In case someone does not have a Gmail id, he has to create one for this purpose and give only that Gmail id.] These will be required at different stages of the admission process. Therefore, an applicant should regularly check his e-mail id during the admission process.
The college will not take any responsibility if any document or intimation sent by the college to these registered e-mail ids given by the student bounces back.
Further, incomplete application form will lead to the cancellation of the candidature.

Note 1 : Aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks of the top-five
subjects (in case of West Bengal Council) and the top-four subjects (in case of other boards including CBSE and ISC) in order of the marks secured by a candidate. Marks in compulsory Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. However, if the subject “Environmental Science” is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.
Note 2 : 5% relaxation in aggregate & subject marks will be allowed (where applicable) for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates.
8. Issue & Submission of Application Forms (Online only) :
a) Date: 31 July 2021 (11.00 a.m.) to 14 August 2021 (7.00 p.m.)
b) Applicant should carefully keep with him the Admit Card generated through
the college admission web portal. This may be required at different stages of
the admission process and even during the actual time of arrival at the hostel
(when normal campus life will resume in future).
c) The students will be required to upload the following:

1. Recent passport size photograph & Signature (JPG format, file
size < 100 kb).
2. Students should meticulously write their e-mail id and phone
number while filling up the online admission form. This will be
required at different stages of the admission process.
d) After the final selection, admission fees will be received online only after
completion of some other procedural requirements, which may include
counseling over video or audio call. However, regarding all these, there will be
a separate notification when the Provisional List of the finally Selected
Candidates are notified after all other merit-based selection methods are over.
e) Important Points to note :
i. The college is fully residential and all students will be required to stay on campus at hostels mandatorily. No day-scholar system will be allowed at any point of time. However, given the present unusual situation due to the recent COVID pandemic, the hostels will remain closed even after admission and regular classes/examinations will be held in ONLINE mode. The students will attend the classes/write examinations from their home till further notice.
ii. Students will be intimated regarding their arrival at the hostel and allied matters in due course.
iii. Students are further requested to look into the website for different notifications. Students should not expect any personal e-mail intimation from the college authority. However, the authority may, if they feel necessary, send any communication via e-mail, for which the students are asked to check their mailbox at regular intervals.
iv. Students should carefully read the rules and regulations that are available on the college web portal.
v. Scholarships are granted to financially weak students.

Note : Before choosing your generic subject / course, students are requested to carefully

i. Honours Subjects in Science Group : Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics
Honours Subjects in Arts / Humanities Group : English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science,
Philosophy, Bengali
ii. A student with Honours in any one subject of the Arts / Humanities group as mentioned above will have to take any two other generic/general subjects, at least one of which must be from Arts / Humanities Group.
iii. A student with Honours in any one subject of the Science Group as mentioned above will have to take any two other generic/general subjects, at least one of which must be from Science Group.
iv. No student should take the same subject from both the pools. Students are also not allowed to take two subjects from one pool.

vi. Special conditions for admission to the Honours courses:
a) Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) vocational Examinations conducted by West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training cannot apply.
b) A candidate shall not be allowed to take up Honours in the subject under heading A if he has not passed the subject(s) mentioned under the heading B in the HS / equivalent examination.

11. Merit-based Selection Methods for all Honours Programmes :
A. Physics :
Following methods will be adopted for selecting students for B.Sc. Physics Honours Programme. Kindly read carefully the entire process. Always check the website of the college to remain updated for all notifications.
i. There will be a short listing for an online test. Short listing will be done based on :
Marks obtained in Mathematics in 10th class final examination (converted to 15)

Marks obtained in Physical Science / Physics / Science in 10th class final examination (converted to 15)

Aggregate Percentage of Marks obtained in 10+2 (converted to 20)
= Total 50
ii. These short-listed students will have to appear in an online Test.
a. The online test will be of 30 minute duration carrying 20 marks.
b. Syllabus for the above-mentioned online test: PHYSICS from both the classes XI and XII. Question Standard: That of various all India level competitive examinations.
c. Question Pattern of the online test: Subjective (both concept based and numerical problems).
d. While filling up the online application form, candidates must provide their e-mail id and phone number (preferably a WhatsApp number).
e. The college will send the online test question paper to the e-mail id provided by the candidates.
f. Candidates should mention their name, application number and phone number (which they have written during the filling up of application form) at the top of the blank paper where they will write out the answers.
g. The answers must be written in the candidates’ own hand writing (preferably in black ink) which may be verified at any later stage after the pandemic situation gets over.
h. The candidates should also mention on their answer script the precise time when they have received the e-mail and the precise time at which they have completed writing their answer. This entire span shall be limited to 30 minutes with a maximum buffer time of 15 minutes.
i. The question paper for the Online Test will be sent to the students through e-mail 5 minutes before the scheduled time for the commencement of the examination.

j. If a candidate does not receive the question paper 5 minutes before the scheduled time for the commencement of the examination, he must report to [email protected] by sending an e-mail. For such type of delay candidates will not be discredited.
k. After writing the answers in the answer scripts, candidates shall send the scanned copy of the answer script as one single legible file in .pdf format to the e-mail id [email protected] . The whole process of writing the examination, scanning the answer script and sending it to the given e-mail has to be completed within 30 minutes, with a maximum buffer time of 15 minutes.
l. If a candidate fails to send the copy within this time limit, he will be marked absent in the Test.
m. Any technical issue related to sending the answer script should be informed within this time limit.
iii. After the online test there will be a short-listing of the candidates eligible for the next level of the admission process. This short-listing will be done based on

iii. These candidates will be called for an online interview through Google meet on specified date(s) and time. The link of this interview will be sent to them through their Gmail account which they have written down during the filling up of the application form.
iv. In the online interview each candidate will be asked ten multiple choice type questions.
v. The questions will be set in both Bengali and English. The interviewer will converse with a candidate either in English or in Bengali only, as will be preferred by the candidate.
vi. The questions will be shown to the candidates one after another by screen sharing during the interview and students will have to choose the correct answer orally. A candidate will be given 15 minutes to answer all the ten questions. Once a student has been given the chance to answer a question, will not get a repetitive second chance again.
vii. There will be no negative marking. Each correct answer will fetch 2.5 marks.

subject.
a. The online test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration carrying 50 marks.
b. Syllabus for the above-mentioned online test : i. Test on English (20 marks) : Summary Writing and Essay
Writing ii. Test on Mathematics (30 marks) : covering 10+2 level
syllabus c. Question Pattern of the above-mentioned online test: Subjective
(both concept based and numerical problems). d. While filling up the online application form, candidates must
provide their Gmail id and phone number (preferably a WhatsApp number).
e. The college will send the online test question paper to the e-mail id provided by the candidates.

i. After writing the answers in the answer script, candidates shall send the legible scanned copy of the answer script in one single .pdf file to the email id [email protected] . The whole process of writing the examination, scanning and mailing it must be completed within stipulated 1 hour and 30 minutes (that means the duration of the online test) with a maximum buffer time of 30 minutes.
