Exercise 2

The parts of a RAMSBOTTOM SAFETY VALVE are shown in Fig. 22.t 4. Draw to 1 :2.5 scale,

the following views of the valve in full open position.

l.,Front view in section.

Insert the leading dimensfons and printthe title -RAMSBOTTOM SAFETY VALVE and the

scale.

a spl i t pin -Part No.9, is mounted ovet r ' ,1'e of tht"valves. The other valve is held in posttrotr hv a pro-jected pivot extended from the lever. tsoth the valvesare held down on the valve seats against the steampressure by the pul lof the spring -Part No.13, the topend of which is hooked to the lever and the lower endis hooked to the shackle-Part No.3 which inturn isfitted to the main body using hexagonal nut -Part

No.6. Two ! inks-Part No.7 are also connected to thelever and the shackle using two pins -Part No.8 andtwo spl i t pins-Part No.9 so as to permit the l i f t of thevalves. These links prevent the lever and the valvesfrom being blown away in the event of spring failure.
