LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
BLINDS & SHADES
PARTS & LABOR
Ray Ev extends this limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser, and applies only to
custom product properly installed in the window for which they were intended.
This warranty does not apply to any Ray Ev product damaged by accident, misuse, and abuse,
direct exposure to salty air or discoloration due to sunlight after three years or the passage of
time, to be determined by Ray Ev or one of its authorized dealers.
This warranty does not apply to conditions caused by normal wear and tear upon the product.
It also does not apply to any product damaged by fire, flood, lightning, or other acts of nature.
Our warranty obligation excludes shipping charges and labor cost for measuring and installation.
In the event of a defect found under this warranty, Ray Ev will repair or replace the product at
our option, provided it is returned to an authorized Ray Ev dealer.
Wood blinds are a natural wood product and some slight warpage may occur. Color and
graining from slat to slat may differ due to natural differences in the wood itself. Ray Ev
warrants wood blinds from excessive warpage for five years from the time of purchase. In no
event shall Ray Ev be liable for incidental or consequential damage, loss, cost expense or fee.
Ray Ev will repair or replace any blind found defective under the guidelines of our limited
lifetime warranty. However, it is solely at the discretion of Ray Ev whether our warranty is
honored by replacement or repair.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from
state to state.

VERTICAL BLIND GENERAL INFORMATION
HEADRAIL: RE-1000 Track (clutch) available with chain rotation control and cord traverse control. Pulley provided for securing cord to wall. Wand control is a no charge option available upon request. Color available in Off White. We do not offer cord weights due to US Consumer Product Safety Commission policy. The free hanging loop in the chain or cord poses a strangulation hazard. CPSC developed a voluntary standard for window covering safety under the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) standards. This standard designated as ANSI/WCMA A100.1 American National Standard for Safety of Corded Window Covering Products. The voluntary standard requires elimination of cord loops and restriction of continuous loops and chains by way of a tension device. Please refer to Window Covering Safety Council's web site at www.windowcoverings.org or Consumer Product Safety Commission at www.cpsc.gov to learn more about window covering safety. VALANCE: Choice of standard tailored corner or round wrapped corner for an extra charge. (Refer to price grid per price group.) **The supply of patterns and colors of all window covering products change on a normal and regular basis, often with little or no notice from companies that distribute material and components. Back-order situations do arise and may effect production times.
VERTICAL BLIND MEASURING INFORMATION
INSIDE MOUNT (IB):
Vertical blinds require 2-7/8” window casing depth for inside mount.
Width: Measure width of opening at top, center and bottom: use narrowest measurement. Do not make any width deductions.
Length: Measure from top of opening to sill. To avoid blind touching the sill, deduct ¼”.
When ordering your blind as an Inside Mount, the factory will take the following deduction: Vertical Blinds – ¼” in width and 3/8” in length – Tolerance of 1/8” in width and length. OUTSIDE MOUNT (OB):
Measure width and length and add the following to each side: Vertical Blinds – 3” or more on each side. **Consider all obstructions (handles, cranks, window trim, carpet, etc.) when determining the measurement, and request all additional necessary mounting components when placing order. (i.e. hold down bracket, projection brackets, etc.)

Drapery Fabrication Policy
Ray Ev offers drapery manufacturing of Customer’s Own Material (COM). Please follow our guideline on
the drapery fabrication to ensure the quality of a finished good.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for the design of your drapery. When supplying us with your own fabric (COM), we are hired to sew panels only. You are responsible for
the design of a finished product.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for customer’s own fabric. We will inspect fabrics to the best of our ability. We will not be responsible for fabric quality and/or the
performance of the fabric, such as flaws, imperfections, stretching and flaring. When purchasing your own
fabric, you are responsible for the quality of the product.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for shortage sent from the mills. When purchasing your own fabric, you are responsible for yardages needed to complete a finished product.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for left over customer’s own fabric. The left over fabric should be pickup upon will call, delivery or ship at your freight expense. Please make
an arrangement with Customer Service Department how you would like to receive the left over fabric.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for fabric marked or tagged “Extra Fabric”. Regarding Custom Drapery orders made from special order fabrics, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY OF
THE EXTRA FABRIC TO US THAT YOU HAVE ORDERED FOR YOUR CUSTOMER. INSTEAD, HAVE
THAT EXTRA YARDAGE SENT DIRECTLY TO YOUR FACILITY. Some customers mark their work orders
“save extra fabric” or call us after receiving the drapes inquiring on the “extra fabric.” We don’t
necessarily receive “extra fabric.” If we catch a flaw in the fabric, we will assume that you sent extra
yardage due to the flaw or that the mill has not made a straight cut and the extra fabric was to make up for
the uneven cutting. Whatever the factor is, we can’t be responsible for tagging and keeping track of extra
fabric after a job has been cut. For those of you with bins, we will do our best to put the extra fabric in your
bin; however, any fabric left for more than 30 days will be at your own risk. Scraps of 1 yard or less are put
into the “scrap bin”. You are welcome to search through the scrap bin at any time. For best results, you
should claim any extra fabric within 10 days or less.
Ray Ev provides standard pin setting and will not be responsible for errors on pin settings. Be aware that standard pinning of drapes is as follows…..for wall pinning, the pinner is always set to 1 ¾”
and for ceiling pinning, the pinner is always set to 1 ¼”. We use a standard Kirsch pinner. All drapes over
90” in length will automatically be pinned for ceiling and all other lengths will automatically be pinned for
wall. IF YOU REQUIRE ANY OTHER TYPE OF PIN SETTING, PLEASE ORDER YOUR DRAPES
WITHOUT PINS. Your installer can then pin the drapes to whatever setting he desires. Please understand
that all pinners are not made the same and can have different settings considered as wall or ceiling. All
rods and hardware are not made the same and can vary in size and settings. Your installer may have his or
her own version of the different pin settings. By ordering your drapes without pins for all you special needs,
you can get the he exact setting you want, thereby eliminating any mis-understanding.

the measurement for a panel or 12” to the measurement for a pair to get the finished pleat to size.) 3. Indicate if drape is pair (center open) or panel (one-way draw) left or right. 4. Indicate if any special returns or overlaps are required. 5. Specify finished length. 6. Specify number of widths desired if other than indicated by the price charts. 7. Indicate if special hems or heads are needed. 8. Indicate wall, ceiling or deco pinning. (You may have to adjust.)
DRAPERY MEASURING INFORMATION
Existing Hardware 1. Measure the face of the rod from tip to tip only. Do not wrap the tape around the end of the rod and
include the brackets. This is your rod size. 2. Measure the bracket extension separately to be sure you do not need special returns on the drape. If
larger than 3-1/2”, be sure to indicate the size return when ordering the drape. 3. Determine the length of the drapery by measuring from the top of the rod to 4” below the sill, or ¾”
above the floor for floor-length draperies. 4. Determine if the rod is a one-way pull or center opening.
New Hardware
1. Rods are usually installed 3” beyond each side of the window or more. Typically, the rod size should be the actual window plus wall space of the area you wish to cover.
2. Rods are usually installed 4” above the top of the window and the drapery should hang at least 4” below the sill or ¾” above the floor.

Roman Shade Labor Policy
Ray Ev offers Roman Shade manufacturing of Customer’s Own Material (COM). Please
follow our guideline on the Roman Shade labor to ensure the quality of a finished good.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for the design of your Roman Shade. When supplying us with your own fabric (COM), we provide the labor of making Roman
Shade. You are responsible for the design of a finished product.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for customer’s own fabric. We will inspect fabrics to the best of our ability. We will not be responsible for fabric quality
and/or the performance of the fabric, such as flaws, imperfections, stretching and flaring.
When purchasing your own fabric, you are responsible for the quality of the product.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for fabric shortage sent from the mills. When purchasing your own fabric, you are responsible for yardages needed to complete a
finished product.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for left over customer’s own fabric. The left over fabric should be pickup upon will call, delivery or ship at your freight expense.
Please make an arrangement with Customer Service Department how you would like to
receive the left over fabric.
Ray Ev will not be responsible for fabric marked or tagged “Extra Fabric”. Regarding Custom Roman Shade orders made from special order fabrics, PLEASE DO NOT
SEND ANY OF THE EXTRA FABRIC TO US THAT YOU HAVE ORDERED FOR YOUR
CUSTOMER. INSTEAD, HAVE THAT EXTRA YARDAGE SENT DIRECTLY TO YOUR
FACILITY. Some customers mark their work orders “save extra fabric” or call us after
receiving the roman shade fabric inquiring on the “extra fabric.” We don’t necessarily
receive “extra fabric.” If we catch a flaw in the fabric, we will assume that you sent extra
yardage due to the flaw or that the mill has not made a straight cut and the extra fabric was
to make up for the uneven cutting. Whatever the factor is, we can’t be responsible for tagging
and keeping track of extra fabric after a job has been cut. For those of you with bins, we will
do our best to put the extra fabric in your bin; however, any fabric left for more than 30 days
will be at your own risk. Scraps of 1 yard or less are put into the “scrap bin”. You are
welcome to search through the scrap bin at any time. For best results, you should claim any
extra fabric within 10 days or less.

301 Flat Pleated Shade
The 301 Shade is a simple, flat style, with
rear-facing stay pockets that add detail to the
front of the shade.
All shades have variation on pleating size and bottom
pleat may vary.
302 Soft Fold Shade
The 302 Shade has a tailored yet soft appearance. The face
fabric hangs down in a gentle fold at each pleat. “Hobbling”
the face fabric onto the lining fabric at regular intervals creates
overlapping folds that cascade from top to bottom. Because
the lining is essential to the hobbling, this shade is always
lined.
All shades have variation on pleating size and bottom pleat may vary.

305 Flat Shade
The 305 Shade is one square panel of fabric with stays
to keep the panel flat when the shade is up or down , large prints
are displayed to their best advantage with this style. Small tack
stitches (made to attach the cord rings) are visible on the face
of the shade, and add character. This shade is an ideal style
choice for fabrics with large prints or scenic patterns.
306 Grommet Shade
The 306 Shade has one grommet pocket between two
pleats of equal size. The stays on this shade are clear aluminum.
The shade's lifting cords are routed through the grommets.
Large prints are interrupted by the grommeted folds at the back
of the shade. This shade can be made up in any fabric.
However, if the fabric is sheer, the shade must be lined or the
face fabric will tear at the grommets.
All shades have variation on pleating size and bottom pleat may vary.

308 Relaxed with Tails Shade
The 308 Shade is made with a square flat fabric panel.
The narrow tucked side panels are created by tacking the fabric
to the lining at each pleat. Side panels are 5” to 9” in width.
When made with soft, pliable fabrics, this shade swags
gracefully in the center. This style is a good choice for fabrics
with large scale or scenic patterns that look best without interruption.
The finished height is measured from the top of the shade to the
top of the center swag. It does not include the swag or tails.

Bracket Installation

Inside Roman Shades
1. The top headboard has predrilled mounting holes for easy
installation. Turn the shade so that the front of the Roman Shade
is facing into the room and the predrilled headboard holes are
easily accessible. Center the shade inside the window frame
using an pencil or awl, mark the locations of the mounting
holes through the predrilled headboard holes.
2. Align the shade with the drilled holes and ensure
that the draw cords are not snagged. Install the shade
using the screws provided.
Outside Roman Shades
Roman Shades are attached to the wall with the L
brackets provided. With a pencil, mark the
mounting position of each L bracket at the desired
height. A bracket must be installed about 3”- 4”
from each side of shade.
For wider shades, additional brackets are included to
prevent bowing. Space them equally across the top
and be sure that they are level with the two end
brackets.
42
Cords Forward Roman Shades (L Bracket Installation Process)
If the Roman Shade is cords forward and you are doing an outside mount, you will need to make
small slits in the shade fabric to insert the mounting brackets.
Use a piece of masking tape, about 1½” long, on the face of the shade at each bracket location to
prevent fraying . mark a line on the masking tape directly below the underside of the headboard.
Using a blade, carefully cut fabric through the masking tape and the shade fabric at each marked
location.
Important: The slits must be placed exactly at the bottom edge of the headboard. If they are too high
or too low, the shade fabric can bunch up or the cloth can rip.
Attach the shade to the L brackets, using the small screws provided.
For final process on installation attach line cord cleat or chain holder on each shade hanging
cord or chain is a safety hazard for children or pets. To prevent possible strangulation, be
sure these finishing steps are completed and always wrap excess cord around a cord cleat.
Upend Headboard Roman Shades
If the shade uses an upended headboard, 2” flat
head Phillips screws are provided. The shade is
attached through the predrilled holes in the
headboard whether the shade is inside or
outside mount. Hold the shade fabric out of the
way and attach the headboard as shown. Ensure
the screws or moving drill parts do not catch
the shade fabric or cords.

For an inside mount roller shade, it is important to remember that the cloth width must always
be less than the width of the window opening. You must allow enough room on either side of
the cloth to accommodate the shade hardware, such as brackets or cassette. The hardware
always extends past the cloth.
When do I need to indicate a measurement on the cloth
width?
If your shade is outside mount, and you want the shade
cloth to be an exact width, indicate this measurement in the
Cloth Width box.
We will add the allowances for brackets to arrive at the Tip
to Tip Width, approximately 1-1/4” (cloth width 75”, tip to
tip width 76 ¼”).
If cassette is indicated in the Valance Type box, we will add
the appropriate allowance to arrive at the Overall Width,
approximately 1” (ordered size 75”, overall width 76”).
What is the tip to tip?
The tip to tip measurement is from the outside of one bracket to the outside of the opposite bracket.
For inside mount, it is the tight opening (the width of the window opening) minus a small allowance
of ¼” for clearance.
What does “tight opening” mean?
The tight opening is simply the width of the window opening. If a shade is made the same width
as the window opening, the shade will not fit in the opening. Because of this, we deduct ¼” from the
tight opening for shades up to 120”. This clearance ensures that the shade fits within the
window opening and can be moved up and down without interference.
Helpful tips for Custom Shade measurements:
Cloth Width
Standard Parts:
Bottomrail
48
Tools Required: Power drill with the following bits:
• Metal measuring tape - ¼” hex driver with extended shaft (8”-12”)
• Level - Phillips screwdriver
• Awl or pencil - 1/16” drill bit
• Ladder or stepstool - Masonry drill bit (if mounting surface requires)
- Needle nose pliers
Components:
• Shade
• 1-1/2” self-tapping hex head mounting screws
• Phillips screw for chain holder
Installation Instructions:
1. Usually the control mechanism is placed on the right side, but it also can be used for the left side.
The A bracket is always placed on the side with the bead chain and the B bracket on the opposite side.
Components and Hardware: Important: When the shade is removed from its packaging, leave the shade rolled up. Do not unrolled until the shade
is installed on the brackets.
49
2. The brackets can be placed in three different ways:
• Mounting Inside frame(2b)
• Ceiling Mount(2c)
• Mounting Outside frame(2a)
3. Before the roller shade is placed in the brackets, insert the Bracket Insert in the end
of the roller shade with the round hole.
4. Then press the control mechanism into pin metal of the A bracket.
5. Press the square part of the locking bracket into B bracket until the locking button
is notched into the front of the B bracket.
With safety in mind we have provided you with Cord Guides to keep the cords out of reach of small
children. Mount the Cord Guide to the side of the window frame for inside mount, or the frame or
wall for outside mount. Do not apply tension to loop control. The cord should run through the cord
guide freely.

Components and Hardware:
Important: When the shade is removed from its packaging, leave the shade rolled up. Do not
unrolled until the shade is installed on the brackets.
Tools Required: Power drill with the following bits:
• Metal measuring tape - ¼” hex driver with extended shaft (8”-12”)
• Level - Phillips screwdriver
• Awl or pencil - 1/16” drill bit
• Ladder or stepstool - Masonry drill bit (if mounting surface requires)
- Needle nose pliers
Components:
• Shade
• Cassette
• 1-1/2” self-tapping hex head mounting screws
• Cassette brackets (for outside mount)
• Phillips screw for chain holder
Installation Instructions with Cassette:
51
Attach the Cassette
Inside Mount
• Hold the cassette in the opening at the desired location, making sure it is centered and level. If
the window opening is not level, use shims to level the cassette
Important: For the shade to operate properly and roll up evenly, it must be level.
• Attach the cassette by drilling the self-tapping hex head screws through the top of the cassette
and into the window frame. Place a screw within about 6” of each end, and space any additional
screws about 30” based on overall width.
Outside Mount
• Hold the cassette on the wall and mark the location, making sure it is centered and level.
• Measure and mark the locations for the cassette brackets (1/16” below the desired level of the top
of the cassette). Place a bracket within about 6” of each end, and space any additional brackets
about 30” based on overall width. Ensure the brackets are level with each other. Align brackets
with studs where possible. If solid backing is not available, use special fasteners designed for the
mounting surface (not included).
Attach the L Brackets
• Attach the L brackets using the hex head screws provided. If there is any curvature in the wall
surface, avoid warping the cassette by using shims behind brackets where needed to compensate.
• Loosen the lock screws on the brackets and move the slide cleats away from the wall.
• Tilt the cassette onto the brackets, catching the front mounting rail on the front of the brackets as
shown.
• Tilt the cassette back so it is flat on the top of the brackets.
• Move the slide cleats back so that they catch the rear mounting rail of the cassette, and tighten the
lock screws.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What do you mean by "pre-programmed"?
All motorized are "plug and play". That means after you install the shade, just press the remote and the shade works.
Even multi-shade orders will be pre-programmed and ready to use.
Do I need electrician?
No. Simply plug the battery pack into the shade.
For Plug-in (110 Volt), plug the unit into a standard wall outlet or it can be hard wired into the wall by an electrician.

Ray Ev offers a new “ZEBRA” shade. This new roller shade combines light control of a horizontal blind with the softness of a fabric shade. Simply adjust the shade panel in one position to achieve a soft translucence of a sheer or adjust further to create privacy. It is a similar look to the brand “silhouette” however it does not have a “vane” in the middle. Please call to request a sample to view the fabric. For further information or questions please call Customer Service Department at 818-610-0609.

Custom Cellular Shades
Ray Ev, cellular shade collection is one of the industry’s most fashionable and comprehensive programs. Our shades, light filtering to blackout, single cells to double cells come in a rainbow of fashion colors from soft neutrals to rich jewel tones. Specialty fabrics such as sheer, slub woven, linen prints and crush fabrics add more choices and creativities to home decoration. Fire retardant fabrics provide more options to commercial applications.

How to Measure Cellular Shades _______________________________________________________________________________ Measure each window individually as sizes may vary. Measure width first, then height (length) to the nearest 1/8”. Measure width from left to right, height from top to bottom using a metal tape measure. PLEASE DO NOT USE A CLOTH TAPE! Inside Mount: Inside mount shades are installed inside the window frame. 1. Measure the exact inside width of the window frame from one inside edge to the
other. Take three measurements: one near the top, one in the center and one near the bottom. Record the narrowest measurement.
2. Measure the exact height in three places: left, center and right from top edge of opening to top of sill. Record the longest measurement for horizontal blinds.
3. Do not take deductions on inside mount measurements. The factory will take a 3/8” allowances for operating clearance.
4. Measure the window diagonally in two places as shown. If the two diagonal measurements are not the same, we suggest an outside mount application for the best shade performance and appearance.
Outside Mount: Outside mount shades are installed outside the window frame, covering an area larger than the window itself. 1. Measure the exact width of area to be covered. Be certain the measurement overlaps
the window opening by at least 1 1/2” on each side to ensure privacy and light control. 2. Measure exact height to be covered, including desired overlap (usually from top edge of molding
to bottom edge, or to top of sill). If there is no sill, measure to where the blind is to reach. 3. The factory does not make deductions for an outside mount.
