The type of peace that Jesus is talking about has an influence on our circumstances and how we feel internally, but the peace He is referring to have to do with our relationships. There is no peace outside Christ, and directly peace really soaks into the Christian man's heart, and flashes through his life, and shines through his every movement, it is the most convincing proof that Christian people have got something the world cannot bestow or even imitate. F.B. Meyer What Is A Peacemaker? A peacemaker is someone who is actively working to reconcile men to God and to one another. He is a “minister of reconciliation” who has been given the “message of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18-21). We need to face the challenge of this beatitude. Peacemaking is not easy. It is time-consuming, it will involve sacrifice, it is painful, and emotionally exhausting. Those who do it will often be misunderstood. What Is The Blessing? It does not mean that people can earn the right to become the children of God through being peacemakers. The right to be the children of God only comes through faith in Jesus Christ and as a gift and never as a result of works. Peacemaking is a work of God; and we show ourselves to be most like Jesus when we act as His peacemakers in the world.
