Welcome Fans of Jazz,
I would like to welcome you to Hamilton High School West for our ninth annual Jazz Festival. Tonight you will hear some of the finest public school jazz ensembles in the area. These students have put in an incredible amount of time to bring you these excellent performances. With that hard work, the guidance of their instructors and your continuous support, music continues to fill the halls of our schools.
I would like to thank everyone that has made tonight possible. A special thank you to Mrs. Bonnie Painter and Mr. Steve Painter for working behind the scenes to make tonight’s festival run smoothly. Thank you to our Band Parents Club and Mrs. Nancy Schmaus (HHWBPA President) for all of your hard work and support of the Jazz Ensemble. Thank you to our administrative team, custodial staff, my colleagues, Mr. Brian Maher and Mr. James Fillmore, for all your support and assistance this evening.
Please sit back and enjoy as these ensembles take you on a ride through some of the greatest moments in our rich history of jazz. If all of this great music stirs your appetite, please visit our cafeteria for some food prepared by our band parents.
NOW ON WITH THE SHOW!!!!

About our Band...the Alexandria Middle School Jazz Band involves students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students do not audition to be in the band but must desire the willingness and dedication to learn to play jazz and attend 7:30 morning rehearsals (before school). We have a group of dedicated parents who make this possible thanks to their transportation and support! The AMS Jazz Band has been performing in area Jazz Band festivals and Music In the Parks since 2005.
The AMS Jazz Band would like to thank Peter Certo and staff at Hamilton High School West and the Band Parents Association for hosting this wonderful festival.

The Ramsey High School Jazz Ensemble is composed of students that have auditioned for this premier performing group that rehearses two nights per week from late October until June. Typically the group will perform at 4-5 concerts during each school year, compete in aproximately 6 jazz festivals/competitions, and hosts the annual Ramsey Jazz Symposium. They can also be seen playing at local outdoor concerts and jazz festivals, as well as performing at Relay for Life Events. The group has been extremely successful in local and regional competitions. In 2003 the band was chosen to be the guest of the Japanese government, and the sole representative of the United States, at the “All Japan Cultural Arts Festival” held in Fukui Japan . In 2007 and 2010, and 2013 the band was selected as the only jazz ensemble to perfrom at the New Year's Gala Concert Series held in London England. The group was also selected to be on the front cover of the JW Pepper music catalogue in 2007.

Great Job “Jelly” on your 2nd year of Jazz Band. We love you very much!!!!
Mom, Dad, Daniela & Hector Jr.
This was the Painter’s first car
from Broad Street Auto Sales
and we were so impressed,
when an accident forced us to
buy another car, we went back.
We are now the proud
owners of this beautiful
Jeep Liberty. Joe worked
with us to get us into the
vehicles that we needed
And this beautiful Mercury
Cougar! Yes, we’ve bought
three cars from Broad Street
Auto Sales in the last two
years.
We can’t say enough good things about these guys. The next time
you’re in the market for a used car, visit Joe at Broad Street Auto
Sales and tell him the Painters sent you!
