HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Err… Okay, this might not be what you want to see when its FINALLY starting to get warm!!
Festival of Lights
For 9 years, Rotary has lit up downtown Mississauga during the holidays
Companies sponsor a tree and Rotary lights it up and hangs a
plaque for approx. 8 weeks
There are 13 indoor trees and a handful of outdoor trees to be placed around the Living Arts Centre
They have raised up to $10,000 for their club!
Festival of Lights
This year… Rotary has given us the opportunity to take on the project as our main fundraiser for the year
This is a BIG opportunity!
The commitment?
Sponsorship: get corporate sponsors, many that will come on
again from previous years
Set up: light all the trees in late November – need a team of 20-30
Reception: for the sponsors around the holidays (TBD)
Take down: in mid-January
Festival of Lights - Costs
We already have all of the lights and indoor trees (and of course, the outdoor trees)
Printing costs (nominal)
Transportation costs (approx. $160 there and back)
We have an opportunity to get creative and sell other items
(i.e. stars, wreaths…)
Festival of Lights - Next Steps
Put together a team
Scope the area
Plan what we want to offer
Put together the sponsorship package
