ROTARY INTERNATIONAL THEME IN 2009-2010

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

ROWENA “Jing” SARAO

After all the glitz and glamour of our 17th Induction, the launch of many District programs, inductions of all the 83 Rotary clubs in our District 3830, it was most appropriate to pause, reflect and internalize all our Rotary vaues that are Christian based. It is most appropriate to invite one of our Honorary Member, Fr. Larry Tan, SDB.

What struck me the most in his dissertation is how we should live our lives affecting many around us in a positive way. Pres. Cory Aquino was his model and should be our model as we lead our Rotary lives.

The same day as our meeting, the District conducted a very successful Literacy Summit Conference at the Aerospace Museum in Nichols Air Base. I was given the task of introducing PDG Jimmy Cura. From Unicef, Collin Davis, and from USAID Aivan Amit.

In September 12, the New Gen Conference was held at the Umak in Makati. It was a huge success with 10 Interactors.

The highlight of Fr. Larry Tan’s talk is for all of us to

emulate the spirit of selfless love towards

others, just like Pres. Cory Aquino.

In addition, for all us Rotarians to keep giving our time, talents and

treasures for those who have less in life.
