The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the

year towards quality enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the

PART-B

1) Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution.

The year (2010-11) was decleared as Golden Jubilee year of

Maharashtra State Formation. Activities were planned so as to reflect goals and

objectives of institution as well as celebration of Golden Jubilee of Maharashtra

State Formation.

• Most important event this year was the visit of NAAC Peer Team for re-

accreditation of our Institute. We were among those very few Institute of

Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur who opted for Re-

accreditation process.

• National Hindi Day was celebrated by organizing Slogan Competion and

Hasya Kavi Sammelan.

• Workshop on practical aspects of microbiology & B/T is co-operation with

Bio-Era.

• National conference was organized by Hindi Department, Buero Chief of Aaj-

Tak, Shri Manish Awasthi guided participant. Subject was “Role of Hindi-

Language in Information Technology”.

• Guest Lectures were organized on various subject.

- Political Science department organized lecture on parliamentary affairs.

- “Origin of Theory of relativity” was discussed by Dr. Niwas Patil to

celebrate National Science Day.

• Blood group detection and blood donation camp was organized as a part of

Social service.

• Seminar on ‘An Architecture of DBMS by C/S department was organized.

• French Language speaking classes wee conducted.

• Geography Day was celebrated by Geography Department.

• Student Council for the session 2010-2011 was Inaugurated.

• A Sadbhavana Rally was organized on 2nd

October i. e. on Gandhi Jayanti.

• Alumni Association with many members visited “Rastrapati Bhavan” and had

talk with Hon’ble Pratibhatai Patil, president of India.

• Fourteen different companies were called for conducting recruitment drive for

students of our college and other colleges in district.

• Celebration of Sahitya –Sanskruti Mahotsav (4, 5 & 6th

March 2011)

• Many more student orientated activities were conducted by various

department.

• NSS organized one week camp at Chikhali village in Mul Tahsil.

• Research paper were called by sociology department on “Impact of

Modernisation on Society”.

• Wild life conservation week was celebrated by Zoology department by

organizing, Slide show by Atul Dhamankar.

2. New Academic Programmes Initiated

Information and communication Technology as an add-on course and

French Language courses were started during this session by considering the

need of student.

3. Innovation in Curricular Design and Transaction.

Curriculum designing is beyond the scope of college teachers, as we are

affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, However

following members are on various academic bodies of University. They

contribute in designing curriculums in their meetings in university.

5. Examination Reforms implemented :

Examinations are conducted as per university norms and all facilities

are provided to examinee for smooth conduct of examination. However, at

college level three different committees consist of college professor are formed,

They look after conduction of unit test and test examination as per university

pattern. Unit test are conducted by displaying time-table and syllabus to be

included. Committee also take care of announcement of result in prescribed

time limit and returning back valued answersheets to students. This practice,

helps student to perform better at their University examination.

Three candidates have cleared NET/SET/GATE examination.

7. Initiative towards Faculty Development Programme.

College Administration always motivate and work for faculty

development programme. One of teacher is on FIP Scheme of UGC persuing

her research at Institute of Science, Nagpur. 19 Teachers have applied for

minor research programme, 7 have been sanctioned. Teachers are granted leave

to attend Refresher Courses, Orientation courses, various conferences, seminar

at different places.

Department of Physical Education & Sports at the beginning of the

session organized one month special summer Wrestling Coaching Camp in

summer vacation. In this session Department also organized R.T.M. Nagpur

University Inter Collegiate (Zone B & D) Women Kabaddi tournaments.

34. Incentives to outstanding sportspersons

College has unique practice of felicitating all achievers by

giving them memento, track suit. College spent around 1.25 lac rupees annually

for this purpose.

Sports students are allotted with 10 grace marks at their university

examination.

Travelling allowance is paid to student for participating in sport event.

� 13 students of our college were in merit list of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj

Following awards were distributed for students achievement.

Onkarnath Sharma Scholership of Rs. 5000/- for standing 1st in

college and merit list of the university examination.

Shri Mahendra Omkarnath Sharma Scholership of Rs. 5000/- for

standing 1st in M.A. Hindi Examination.

Rs. 2500/- cash prize sponsored by college to all student who stood

in Merit list of university.

College professor sponsored prize of Rs. 1000/- for those students

who stand 1st in college in their subject.

36. Activities of the Guidance and Counseling unit.

Students were informed about the activities and coaching classes for

preparation of various type of competitive examination. This year time table was

prepared and students were guided the students on the topic of general studies including

political science, History, current affairs etc. Prof. Vilas More, Director of Chanakya

academy for competitive examination was invited to guide the students.
