Details of the Conference Date: January 15-18, 2014 Venue: Y-Square, Chai Wan Local Delegate Fee: HKD$1050 (without accommodation) Committee: General Assembly (GA), Security Council (SC), Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs Committee (SOCHUM) and World Health Organization (WHO) Application Deadline: 24 November, 2013 1 winner of each committee will get $2000 subsidy to overseas MUN conferences.OurClubaimsatarousingyouthawarenessonglobalissuesandpromotingtheModelUnitedNationscultureintheregion.WiththecontinuoussupportofOfficeoftheCommissioneroftheMinistryofForeignAffairsofthePRCinHKSAR,ConstitutionalandMainlandAffairsBureau,EducationBureau,HongKongInstituteofAsia‐PacificStudies,ourhonorableadvisorsandguests,ourClubwasregisteredasanindependentandnon‐profit‐makingorganizationin2005.HKMUNConference2014,oneofourannualhighlightingevents,consistsof4committeesandservesasadynamicplatformwhichintroducesover200delegatesfromaroundtheglobetothediscussionofedge‐cuttingandcontroversialtopics,suchasthecrisisinSyria,asymmetricwarfare,self‐determination,andreligiousextremists.Moreover,stayingtruetoourmission,thisyear,wewillbeawarding4delegates(onefromeachcommittee)SUBSIDIESAMOUNTINGTO$2000fortheirparticipationinoverseasMUNconferencessuchasHarvard,WorldMUNandmanyothers.Inthe4‐dayconference,delegateswillactasdiplomats,andutilizetheirchancetostriveforthenationtheyrepresent,exchangeideasandcooperatewithoneanotherinpreparingadraftedresolution.Simpleasitmayseem,peoplewithModelUnitedNationsexperiencecancertifythatitismorethandebatingandcomposinganewdocument.MUN–inadditiontohelpingyouimproveyourresearching,negotiatingandwritingskills–alsonurturesglobalawareness,encouragescollaborationandconnectslike‐mindedpeople.ThevalueofaMUNconferencemaydifferfromonepersontoanother;However,weareconfidentthatallparticipantswillfindtheexperiencethought‐provokingandinsightful.We,theorganizingcommittee,willdefinitelystriveforourbestinbringingauniqueMUNexperiencetoalltheparticipantsandwelookforwardtoseeingyouandrealizingacollectiveachievementtogether! APPLICATION REMINDERS
Hong Kong Model United Nations Conference 2014 accepts both individual and team application.
For team application, each team should consist of 2 to 6 delegates; 2 delegates may be assignedto the same committee in each team.Please be reminded that delegates in the same team may NOT be representing the same country in different committees.
All the committees are in double-delegation so individual applicants will be assigned to a partner to represent one country.

APPLICATION REMINDERS TO NON-LOCAL DELEGATES
Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months prior to your arrival to Hong Kong, and purchase the air tickets ONLY AFTER your application is confirmed as successful by HKMUNC.
It is your responsibility to visit the Hong Kong Immigration Department and check the visa requirement of your own country: http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm
You are recommended to purchase travel insurance for the Conference on your own. As soon as the air tickets are confirmed and the travel insurance is purchased, please provide your flight detail to the HKMUNC Secretariat ([email protected] ).

A maximum of 2 advisors or 2 observers per team will be accepted to the Conference.
