Frequently Asked Questions What is the purpose of G.E.A.R. by Re-Invention? Re-Invention exists to find areas where we can go and create new opportunities for Social Enterprise. By selling G.E.A.R., we hope to Re-Invent where we live and connect our consumers to the lives of those our goods represent. We would like to implement the social enterprise business model in areas of vulnerability here at home and on a global scale. Our goal is to show everyone how easy it is to play a part in changing the world. We are not just about producing sustainable products, but sustainable lives. What exactly is a social enterprise and what does it mean for Re-Invention customers? A social enterprise is a business developed to tackle a social or environmental need. This type of business is unique because the business’s purpose, whether social or environmental, is central to the overall being of the organization. When G.E.A.R customers purchase one of our gorgeous goods, it represents a life and a story of old being made new. Those we serve carefully handcraft these items, and by choosing to purchase G.E.A.R. products our customers are accepting our invitation to play a part in a much bigger story with purpose. More information on social enterprise is on our website at www.re-invent.org/what-we-do/ What does Re-Invention do to help those in need in the community? Initially, G.E.A.R. established to create jobs in the community. We have since formed community partnerships with other organizations within the community to provide these opportunities to those we serve. We strive to create opportunities for work that promote sustainability of our world and the lives of those who live in it. Do you take donations? We are working on making Re-Invention the nonprofit part to which the net profits from G.E.A.R and any other social business we may add under the Re-Invention umbrella are invested. Despite the lack of a current nonprofit 501c3, several people have written checks to offset the costs for G.E.A.R. as well as Re-Invention. We also accept donations of fabric. Contact us to find out if we have any volunteer opportunities available. Where can I find G.E.A.R. products? A list of store locations that carry our gorgeous goods is on the Re-Invention website. Our new G.E.A.R. retail website will be launched soon! How do I customize and pick out fabrics for my gorgeous goods? Wholesale customers should contact us via our Inquiry page on the website. Once contact is established, we will discuss fabrics and other issues regarding goods that our client may want to carry. We will provide specifications for customizing goods for individuals on our new retail website. However, orders that require more individualized specifications should be directed to us via our Contact Us page. Interior designers and decorators are encouraged to contact us directly to discuss their client’s specific needs.
