Unique wireless ID for each zone, plus 1 for main device. Transmit diversity for long reliable range. PIR powering (via external supply). 3 year operation on batteries (contacts only). Complete supervision of zone tampers and low battery. Key Instructions DO NOT MOUNT IN A METAL CAN. DO NOT PUT POWER ON HARDWIRE TERMINALS. Use with normally closed contacts in-line with 4.7 K-ohms resistors (mandatory). Not for use with life safety devices, such as Smoke or CO sensors. External supply requirements: Contacts-only installations may use wall plug power supply (see specifications) Installations with PIRs or Glassbreaks (powered devices) require battery-backed external power supply (see diagram). Without backed-up power, PIRs or Glass Breaks could alarm when power is lost. Translator AA batteries drive contacts only, and do not drive powered devices. Ensure that external supply has sufficient current to supply all powered devices including Translator. 4-wire powered devices only. Not for use with 2-wire powered devices. If using old panel as the battery-backed 12V DC supply, verify supply and battery operation. DO NOT MOUNT IN OLD CAN… the wireless will not get out! Installation Hook up PIR and Glass Break power lines to external power supply. Alarm contact hook-up: Works only with normally-closed contacts (alarm = open). Remove any existing end-of-line resistors. Connect 4.7K end-of-line resistor (included) IN-LINE with contact. Resistor should NOT be across (between) terminals. RE208 Hardwire-to-Honeywell® or 2GIG® Wireless Translator™

Features

• Converts hardwire zones into Honeywell-compatible wireless signals.

• 8 Hardwire loops with end-of-line resistor detection.

• Unique wireless ID for each zone, plus 1 for main device.

• Transmit diversity for long reliable range.

• PIR powering (via external supply).

• 3 year operation on batteries (contacts only).

• Complete supervision of zone tampers and low battery. Key Instructions

• DO NOT MOUNT IN A METAL CAN.

• DO NOT PUT POWER ON HARDWIRE TERMINALS.

• Use with normally closed contacts in-line with 4.7 K-ohms resistors (mandatory).

• Not for use with life safety devices, such as Smoke or CO sensors.

• External supply requirements: Contacts-only installations may use wall plug power supply (see specifications) Installations with PIRs or Glassbreaks (powered devices) require battery-backed

external power supply (see diagram). Without backed-up power, PIRs or Glass Breaks could alarm when

power is lost. Translator AA batteries drive contacts only, and do not drive powered

devices. Ensure that external supply has sufficient current to supply all

powered devices including Translator. 4-wire powered devices only. Not for use with 2-wire powered

devices. If using old panel as the battery-backed 12V DC supply, verify supply

and battery operation. DO NOT MOUNT IN OLD CAN… the wireless will not get out!

Installation • Hook up PIR and Glass Break power lines to external power supply.

• Alarm contact hook-up: Works only with normally-closed contacts (alarm = open). Remove any existing end-of-line resistors.

Connect 4.7K end-of-line resistor (included) IN-LINE with contact. Resistor should NOT be across (between) terminals.

Operation

• 8 Hardwire 4.7K-ohm Zones – transmit 8 unique wireless IDs: Alarm, when device sees open circuit. Tamper, when device sees short circuit. Supervisories, every hour for each zone.

• Translator Main Zone wireless transmission (9th unique ID): Tamper, when cover opened. Low battery, when either low AA batteries, OR loss of 12V DC external. Supervisory every hour.

• LED Operation Green LED: On if AC power present. Red LED: When 12V DC is present: “Blinks” on transmit to panel;

“on” if device tamper or device low battery. Specifications

Honeywell Loop: Loop 2 for zones 1-8, Loop 4 for Translator tamper. Zone sensing duration: State sensed if held more than 600ms. End-of-line Resistors: 4.7k-ohm, 5%. Max wire run: 1000 feet. Backup batteries: Two AA Alkaline. External supply: 8.5 to 13 VDC or 6-9 VAC

Standard: Resolution RE012: 12VDC, 50mA. Optional: GE 60-898-ITI, for securing screw Wire connection polarity DOESN’T matter!

Current draw with supply: 4mA, normal operation. PIR usage: PIR may need tight voltage tolerance. Add PIR and

device current requirements together to get total current need.

AC Fail Indication: Translator ID sends Low Battery signal if its external 12V is gone for 15 minutes. Restores on external 12V restore.

AA Low Battery Conditions: Low battery for 1 minute. Restores on device tamper, external 12V restore.

AA Battery Life on AC Fail: 3-5 years, when monitoring contacts. Housing dimensions: 4x6x1 inches Specifications subject to change without notice.
