This is a customer review of
ReachLocal from our client
Hatton Hotels.
We spoke to Peter Gilbert the
Finance Director of Hatton Hotels,
to gather some feedback on his
experience of using ReachLocal.
We also cover the ReachLocal
services they used and the results
he has seen.
A little bit about Hatton Hotels
The Hatton Collection is a group of
six classic hotels and inns located in
the West of England.
Their head office is located in Hatton
Court Hotel, near Gloucester.
The Hatton Court Hotel itself has 45
bedrooms, a restaurant, plus a
conference and wedding venue.
What were their online marketing challenges?
Like many hotel executives, Peter has seen online
travel agencies dominate the industry over the
past few years. These groups of companies have
taken a lead in the online booking market due to
their commission model.
Peter was keen to get customers visiting the Hatton
Court website, and booking a room with them
directly.
Hatton Hotel decided to engage the services of
ReachLocal to help them tackle this challenge.
Before ReachLocal, Hatton
Hotels had attempted to do
their own online advertising.
But despite having their own
ideas, both Peter and the
hotel manager were not really
experts in this field. In reality,
they did not have the time,
resource or skill to run the
campaign.
ReachLocal’s software,
combined with their expertise
in managing and running their
online marketing was the
solution to this.

Peter was also impressed with the campaign set-up process:
It was easy to understand and it
was clear that the opportunity to
sell directly to Hatton Hotel’s own customers was a clear campaign
objective for the ReachLocal
team.
With the help of ReachLocal, Hatton Court Hotel have been
successful in generating more
direct bookings through their
website – bookings that previously had been
overtaken by online travel
agencies.
They now are fulfilling their own bookings by selling
directly to their own guests.
I feel like we’re at that stage
in terms of our internet
marketing… where we now
have it contained.
