READINGACTIVITIES
Forbidden to leave her island, Isabella Riosse dreams of the faraway lands her father once mapped.
When her closest friend disappears into the island’s Forgotten Territories, she volunteers to guide the search. As a cartographer’s daughter, she’s equipped with elaborate ink maps and knowledge of the stars, and is eager to navigate the island’s forgotten heart.
But the world beyond the walls is a monster-filled wasteland – and beneath the dry rivers and smoking mountains, a legendary fire demon is stirring from its sleep. Soon, following her map, her heart and an ancient myth, Isabella discovers the true end of her journey: to save the island itself.
I am how I’ve always been. My name is Auden Dare. I am eleven years old.
Auden Dare has an unusual perspective on life: he cannot see in colour. He’s always had this rare condition - and life is beginning to get harder for
Auden. The war for water that is raging across the world is getting a little closer all the time. It hardly rains any more, anywhere. Everyone is thirsty all
the time, and grubby, and exhausted.
Auden has to learn to live without his father, who is away fighting, and has had to move to a new town with his mother, and start a new school,
where everyone thinks he’s a weirdo.
The Peculiars are a band of misfits, trapped in a nightly Victorian sideshow.
There’s Wolfgirl, Sheba; Sister Moon, who can move at the speed of light; and Monkey Boy, ace climber
and human stink bomb.
But during the day, in a world of child snatchers, grave robbers and dastardly doctors, they solve the
mysteries no one else cares about - including why London’s poorest children are being snatched from
the banks of the Thames.

READINGACTIVITIES
You’re called Fidge and you’re nearly eleven. You’ve been hurled into a strange world.
You have three companions: two are unbelievably weird and the third is your awful cousin Graham. You have to solve a series of nearly impossible clues.
You need to deal with a cruel dictator and three thousand Wimbley Woos (yes, you read that sentence correctly). And the whole situation - the
whole, entire thing - is your fault.
Wed Wabbit is an adventure story about friendship, danger and the terror of never being able to get back home again.
For 8-12 year olds - and all those who love middle grade fiction.
Peony lives with her sister and grandfather on a fruit farm outside the city. In a world where real bees are extinct, the quickest, bravest kids climb the fruit trees and pollinate the flowers by hand.
Will Peony’s grit and quick thinking be enough to keep her safe?
A story about family, loyalty, kindness and bravery, set against an all-too possible future where climate
change has forever changed the way we live.
The children of Mivtown have grown up hearing the legend of the monsters of the
loch. But it’s only a story – a warning to stay away from the water.
Then strange things start happening in the village. Effie’s rabbit Buster escapes from a locked hutch,
her mum disappears without trace and slugs start to infest her home.
Along with her best friend Finn, Effie begins to hunt for clues to solve the mysteries of Mivtown. Could this all be connected to the legend? Is it really just
a story or is there something lurking in those deep, dark waters?
