HELLO! Thank you for downloading VelvetSky Theme. Please follow our simple step-by-step guide for

installing and customizing the theme.

VELVETSKY THEME

Velvet Sky theme provides an atmosphere full of charm with glamourous and elegant design that

stands out for your online store. The theme is suitable for different type of stores such as apparel,

shoes, accessories, jewelry, perfume and cosmetics.

We only provide support for issues related strictly to the theme. If you find any bug, please contact

us at [email protected] or through the contact form on our website.

We do not provide support for Prestashop basic configuration, installation, maintenance etc. If you

have questions about it, please visit Prestashop website or forum.

1. THEME INSTALLATION Please make sure you are using Prestashop 1.5.4.1. We cannot guarantee that our theme will be

compatible with lower or higher version.

1.1 IMPORT THEME

Theme Installation using Import a Theme module. This is recommended for fresh Prestashop

Installation. Ignore the steps below if you want to install the theme manually.

1. Go to Back Office > Modules > Administration

2. Install Template Installer (Addons)

3. Find the Import/export a theme module and click Configure

4. Import velvetsky_theme.zip, click Next

5. Select all custom module available for this theme

6. Select all modules which must be disabled for this theme (you can enable it later)

7. On ‘Native modules configuration’, choose ‘Use theme's configuration', click Next

8. IGNORE the warning about image type. You will set the image type later as explain on next

page (see section 2.1).

9. Click Finish

1.2 MANUAL INSTALLATION

To update the theme you need to follow almost the same steps as when you installed it.

1. Backup your Prestashop installation and the store database.

2. Open the velvetsky-prestashop-1541 folder

3. Extract velvetsky_theme.zip and please upload the content on /modules/ and /themes/

folder via ftp to your Prestashop store directory

1.3 UPLOAD FILES

Some of the default modules have been modified for VelvetSky theme. Open the velvetsky-

prestashop-1541/modules/ folder and please upload each files listed below manually to its

respective folders via ftp. You can ignore this section if you are not planning to use any of these

modules below.

1. Upload the content of /modules/bankwire/ folder

2. Upload the content of /modules/blocknewsletter/ folder

3. Upload the content of /modules/blockwishlist/ folder

4. Upload the content of /modules/cashondelivery/ folder

5. Upload the content of /modules/cheque/ folder

6. Upload the content of /modules/loyalty/ folder

7. Upload the content of /modules/productcomments/ folder

NEW UPDATE Smarty Compile in Prestashop 1.5+

You can keep the default setting when you are still in theme development process.

PrestaShop is able to see when a theme file has changed. If you can not see the changes,

you can try to enable Force compilation and disable cache.

Alternatively, you can delete cache manually in /cache/smarty/compile directory.

3. MODULES

3.1 MODULES ON HEADER

Please make sure you already installed these following modules:

• User info block

• Language block

• Currency block

• Permanent link block

• Quick search block

• Top horizontal menu

• Cart block

3.1.1 Top of Pages Module Positions

Go to Back Office > Modules > Positions and rearrange module in Top of Pages as shown in image

below.

3.1.2 Top Horizontal Menu

First, install Top Horizontal Menu

3.2.1 Homepage Content Module Positions

Go to Back Office > Modules > Positions and rearrange module in Homepage Content as shown

below.

3.2.2 Image Slider for Your Homepage

Below are default slider configurations for VelvetSky theme. You can change it to fit your own store.

• Height: 400 pixels

• Width: 940 pixels

• Speed: 500 miliseconds (0.5 seconds)

• Pause: 3000 miliseconds (3 seconds)

You can modify the footer and change its contents. Open the themes/velvetsky/footer.tpl file to

change the static content and links (lines 43-60).

3.4.2 4-Columns Footer

3.5 MODULES ON SIDEBAR

In admin panel, click Modules, and then click Positions and then transplant all the modules required

for this theme by clicking the Transplant a module link.

3.5.1 Right Column Blocks Module Positions

Remove all of modules in Right column blocks and transplant it in Left column blocks if you need it.
