In compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, the European Community adopted Directive 2009/125 / EC in 2009 to implement energy efficiency in power plants. The same directive was later expanded and extended to related equipment and the use of electrical energy. In this regard, specific rules for small, medium and high power transformers, were listed in Regulation (EU) No 548/2014.
The European Commission aims to achieve significant energy savings by improving the efficiency of transformers installed in the EU countries. Regulation 548/2014 applies to all distribution transformers used in the European market and consists of two conversion stages: the first one is already in force from 1 July 2015 and the second one will be introduced in July 2021 to further reduce the no-load losses of the transformer by 10%. For all transformers up to the maximum power of 630 kVA, the short-circuit losses are also reduced by 10%.

In order to reduce the transformer losses in a significant way, Power employs certified magnetic lasersteel of the highest quality. With the same approach we select the materials for windings. In addition to the basic materials of excellent quality, transformers by Power are designed to considerably reduce the level of magnetic induction, thus ensuring significantly lower no-load losses of the finished transformer.
