It is configured as a workstation with all the connectivity options that make "workstations" so useful. In such facilities, the ability to interconnect to various servers and video sources is paramount. The traditional transmission oriented encoders lack the necessary storage and interconnection options that HD Maestro offers. HD Maestro TM is fully ATSC compliant and interfaces directly with D1 tape decks, analog component to HD SDI converters and HD SDI compliant video disk recorders. Typical applications for post houses utilize the optional Y Pr Pb to HD SDI standards converter since HD SDI outputs are still not prevalent output in most facilities. HD Maestro TM utilizes an HD SDI input to maintain pristine video until it is compressed with our high-end algorithm engine. This engine delivers compression of the incoming digital video into a truly high quality MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS) with video and audio embedded and with pass through for the audio. The Transport Stream output creates a static PSIP table that feeds into TS multiplexers, rate shapers, and traditional transmission equipment. This gives the user the option to stream the content over IP. The HD Maestro TM gives control over the encoding process via the "Stream Bed" GUI. The optional HD decoder provides immediate feedback over the encoding process, allowing the user to monitor the entire HD re-purposing process. HD Maestro TM is integrated into the Dell Power Edge 7150 server and includes easy-to-use Windows interface to guide the user through the production process.
