Welcome to Real-time Rugby! Real-time Rugby will enable you to share all your rugby

experiences in Real-time, so you can Maximize Your Rugby.

Real-time Rugby Registration

• It is critical to register properly.

• If you are going to be reporting the scores of rugby matches as an “Official” or for your team as a “team admin”, you have a greater responsibility than other users. Everyone across the globe will be relying on you to accurately report the scoring events in a timely manner. Therefore, you must have special permissions from our wizard to do so.

• If you are an official “Real-time reporter,” you must select “Official.” This will generate an e-mail to our Real-time wizard, who will allow you access to the official’s icon. The icon will then magically appear on your home screen.

• Later on, you can go back and change your designation to player, coach or fan, but that will not affect your status as an official.

Create Your Real-time Rugby Profile

• Enter your information in the “About” tab. • You can change or hide your email and/or password here if you want to (if you are sketchy). •Choose whether you want to use your “rugby nickname” or legal name as your screen name (other Real-time Rugby users will know you by your screen name).

“Follow” Your Favorite Teams in Real-time

• Your teams’ scores will be published on your scrolling scoreboard on your home and profile pages in Real-time.

• Your teams’ scores will be listed in the “Followed Matches” list so that they are easy to find.

• You will be listed as a “member” on those teams’ pages.

• You will receive alerts for changes in the date, time and venue right up until kickoff.

1. In the “About” tab - pick your 3 favorite teams.

1. After you have picked your team and hit “select”, if that team does not already have a team admin, you will be prompted to request permission from the wizard to be that team’s admin.

2. If permission is granted by the wizard, then the “team admin” icon will magically appear on the lower left corner of your Real-time Rugby home screen.

“Team Admin” Icon

3. Choosing your team will create a pop-up prompting you to choose to : • Report the scores of your team’s match in Real-time • Edit your team’s page

4. You can now report the scores of any home match on your team schedule or add a home match (See “Officials” icon for help scoring).

The team admin can also edit:

• The schedule

• Team info

• Logo

• Directions

• Assign admin rights to another team member if you want to.

2. In the “My Scoreboard” tab, you can always follow more teams if you want to.

3. After you find a team you want to add to your scoreboard, press “add team”, and “save teams” will finish the job.

•Press the magnifying glass on the top right corner of the profile page to find others out there you want to check out. •To navigate any text box in the app, simply press your finger down until the magnifying tool appears and slide you finger (see pic on the left).

Engaging and Sharing with others in Real-time

• You can post comments*, pics/videos to your friends on their profile pages. • The videos must be 10 seconds or less, anything longer will not load.

*Please review the Real-time Rugby Chat Room Rules and Etiquette at the end of the tutorial

1. In the “Pictures” tab, you can share a picture or video (10 secs max).

2. You can choose an existing pic/video or create one in the app from the field, the bleachers or from home.

Search for Your Matches in the “Scores” Icon

1. Search for the matches you want to check in on. You can search by date, or other criteria and hit search. A list of matches will be published.

2. Select your match.

3. The red matches are finals.

1. Chat – You can share your experiences including pics/videos with everyone.

2. This chat feature functions the same way as the profile feature.

3. “Follow match” – ON publishes the Real-time scores in your scrolling scoreboard on the home and profile screens.

4. “Notifications” ON allows you to receive a push alert of match updates for one match at any given time.

Maximize Your Match Experience

In order to receive push notifications, go into your “Settings”, select “Notification Center” and turn on your banners or alerts for the Real-time Rugby app.

5. You will receive push notification for any changes to the date, time, venue of the match right up to the kickoff. 6. “Match events” publishes a list of try scorers, conversions made, misconduct and subs, and the time they happened. 7. “More info” tells you the date, time, venue, referee and side (A or B).

“Teams” Icon

1. This list of your favorite teams allows you to find their pages fast and easy.

2. Pressing the magnifying glass in the top right corner allows you to search for any team by name.

3. Directions to the rugby pitch can be found in the “info” tab.

“Officials” Icon – Reporting Real-time Scores –

1. First, you must search for the match you are going to be reporting using the same criteria as you would use if you were searching in the “scores” icon.

2. If you cannot find your match, you can create a “new match.” After you enter the away and home teams, and A/B side, then “add match” and “search” for your new match.

3. Your new match should now appear at the top of the matches list.

4. The red matches are finals.

Register for Your Match and Open it

1. Enter the venue and length of each half, halftime, and overtime.

2. The default length of each match is “7 minute half, 1 minute overtime, and 1 minute halftime.”

3. The default is set for 7s, but you can adjust the length of any interval, and open match.

4. After you “open match” take a good look and make sure you have the correct teams. If you screwed it up, there is a “start over” button on the goal post pad but once you start the clock, it disappears.

5. If you want to edit the date/time/venue—you can do so right up to kickoff: • Go to the match list, press and hold

the match • Choose “edit”, and make the change. • Everyone that has selected a team as

their favorite 3, has selected a team to appear in “my scoreboard”, or has turned notifications “ON” will receive a push alert to their device.

How to Use the Clocks

1. Regulation (on the left)—the white box below the clock indicates the half.

• Press the above button to start and stop the clock.

• Press again to start the halftime clock. • Press again to start the second half. • Press and hold to skip the half if you

sleep in and show up late. 2. Xtra time—if your are old-school and you like to keep running time, you can track Xtra time by starting and stopping the clock. When the regulation clock expires the Xtra time will run.

1. Pressing the “Score” button as soon as it happens, creates a time stamp and allows you to enter the following:

T = Try only T+C = Converted Try PG = Penalty Goal DG = Drop Goal

2. You must enter one of the above scoring events and the scoring team. The app stamps the time. If you do not have a roster and do not know the name and position, you can leave them blank or have some fun and make something up.

Report Score, Subs and Misconduct

3. Press “Away” or “Home” and record the number of the players that enter and leave the field. The app will record the time for you. 4. Hit “Submit” when you are done.

5. Misconduct will record: • The player’s name and number • Yellow or red card • Describe the infringement in the incident report.

1. If you realize that you made a mistake in a score, misconduct or substitution, you can press “Edit” and fix it right up until you finalize the match.

2. When the match has ended, hit “final score” and then review the events you recorded for accuracy.

Final Score

3. If you find any mistakes, you can make up for it by clicking on the event. 4. You can edit anything you entered. When you have fixed any mistakes, press “Submit.”

5. “Done Editing” will finalize the match. 6. The match now will appear in red in everyone’s match list.
