Goals

Vision/Goal: This project will conduct additional demonstrations and enhancements to the current CERTS prototypes, focusing on dissemination for new locations outside of the Western Interconnection.

Key Issues being addressed: Identify and target host sites for current and expanded CERTS Real

Time Monitoring Tools

Work jointly with Hosts to identify their specific operational requirements, and to expand the current set of tools functionality to meet industry requirements

Real Time Tools Timeframes

Research, Develop, & Demonstrate Platform Prototypes for:

• Supply Resources and Control Adequacy - ACE, AIE, CPS, FRR• Transmission – VAR Management, Congestion• Markets- Ancillary Services• System

Dispatcher and Operating Engineering Applications Based on Synchronized Phasor Measurements:

• Post Disturbance Applications (Completed, Released)• Real Time Dynamics Monitor (Completed, Released)• Enhance Stability Nomograms• Standard, Low Cost, Reliable Phasor Technologies • Validation of Stability Models

Prototype New Real Time Controls Based on Distributed Closed Loop Feedback Controls and Synchronized Phasor Measurements
