StatesHouseofRepresentatives,whohaveengagedinopennonviolentrebellion

againsttheConstitutionoftheUnitedStatesbyopenly,willfully,andsuccessfully

shuttingdowntheGovernmentthatshallbeguaranteedbytheUnitedStatesto

everyStateinthisUnionbyArticleIV,Section4,andhavingpreviouslytakenan

oathasamemberofCongresstosupporttheConstitutionoftheUnitedStatesand

havingengagedinrebellionagainstthesame,saidpersonsshallnotbeaSenatoror

TheConstitutionoftheUnitedStates,ArticleIV,Section4:

TheUnitedStatesshallguaranteetoeveryStateinthisUnionaRepublicanForm

ofGovernment,andshallprotecteachofthemagainstInvasion;andonApplicationoftheLegislature,oroftheExecutive(whentheLegislaturecannot

beconvened),againstdomesticViolence.

TheConstitutionoftheUnitedStates,AMENDMENTXIV,Section3:

NopersonshallbeaSenatororRepresentativeinCongress,orelectorof

PresidentandVice-President,orholdanyoffice,civilormilitary,underthe

UnitedStates,orunderanyState,who,havingpreviouslytakenanoath,asa

memberofCongress,orasanofficeroftheUnitedStates,orasamemberofany

Statelegislature,orasanexecutiveorjudicialofficerofanyState,tosupportthe

ConstitutionoftheUnitedStates,shallhaveengagedininsurrectionorrebellion

againstthesame,orgivenaidorcomforttotheenemiesthereof.ButCongress

maybyavoteoftwo-thirdsofeachHouse,removesuchdisability.

TheConstitutionoftheUnitedStates,AMENDMENTXIV,Section5:

TheCongressshallhavethepowertoenforce,byappropriatelegislation,the

provisionsofthisarticle.

TheConstitutionoftheUnitedStates,ArticleI,Section6:

TheSenatorsandRepresentativesshallreceiveaCompensationfortheir

Services,tobeascertainedbyLaw,andpaidoutoftheTreasuryoftheUnited

States.TheyshallinallCases,exceptTreason,FelonyandBreachofthePeace,be

privilegedfromArrestduringtheirAttendanceattheSessionoftheirrespective

Houses,andingoingtoandreturningfromthesame;andforanySpeechor

DebateineitherHouse,theyshallnotbequestionedinanyotherPlace.

compromiseunlesstheyknowtheRepublicansarewillingtotakeahardstance-

catastrophicallyunworkableandunaffordablehealthcarelawfromtakingeffect

thisJanuary.

ButRepublicanleadershipiseitherafraidorunwillingtodefundObamaCare,

andMinorityLeaderMitchMcConnellispersonallyleadingtheefforttokeep

senatorsawayfromLee'sletter.Hehasevensucceededinconvincingfive

Republicanswhohadsignedtotaketheirnamesofftheletter.IntheHouse,

CongressmanMeadows'letterisgettingnosupportfromRepublicanleadership,

andonlyaboutathirdoftheRepublicanHouseMembershavesignedhisletter.

Thiscannotstand.Republicanshavespentthelastthreeyearsworkingtoget

ridofthisunpopular,unaffordable,unworkablelaw,andthereisnoexcusefor

givingupnow.Accordingly,FreedomWorkshastakentheextraodrinaryposition

ofissuingaKeyVoteontheletter-signatorieswillbescoredonouronline

scorecard.
