Reboot Leadership

The shift from sustainability to responsibility pledges by companies is noticeable. Everyday, more and more pledges to act responsibly, invest responsibly and source responsibility is conspicuous.

The few that have maintained their pledge have sustained return on investment. They are aware that the consumer power to boycott unethical products and services, is matched equally by consumer power to purchase products and services considered ethical and responsible.

Reboot Leadership

The map is not the territory! Our business maps and models have got us into the state we’re in. We need new ones to get us out of this mess.

Reboot Leadership

Missionary and mercenary motives are transparent.

It is no longer enough to be photographed handing over 6 x 3 ft. cheques to needy charities, building jungle schools and adopting gorillas, the consumer demands responsibility, accountability and integrity in all aspects of business.

Reboot Leadership

It’s time for an extreme makeover. We now have opportunities to reinvent, redesign and remake everything on this planet!

Page 6: Reboot Leadership

Reboot Leadership Everyday, media reports on jaw-dropping new lows in business practice, pathetic excuses and mind numbing rationalisation for bad behaviour.

A consumer response ability revolution has begun. YouTubers,Twitters, bloggers and social networking savvy consumers are armed and firing at every ‘white and green washer’. Consumers don’t read CSR and annual reports, they watch the news, talk to friends, read newspapers and are moved by movies and documentaries about blood diamonds, climate change and irresponsible labour practices, etc.

Consumers are annoyed with retailers launching earlier and earlier pre-dawn Christmas and Easter raids, and misleadingmarketing and advertising

Page 7: Reboot Leadership

Reboot Leadership

Alarmed and irritated consumers attack at broad band speed. There’s nowhere to hide. They have become expert marksmen and have perfected their own pre-dawn, rapid response raids and campaign skills. Companies have little choice - be more responsible and accountable or be prepared to face the broad band firing squad at dawn!

Reboot Leadership

Enough is enough! It’s time to draw a line in the sand.

‘To do the same things today you did yesterday and expect your results tomorrow to be different, is the height of insanity’.

Orion's current name derives from Greek mythology. One story tells that Orion was killed by a giant scorpion. Yet other stories say Orion was chasing the Pleiades. Indigenous people around the world have different names and stories. It’s time to join the dots - create our own stories, new maps, constellations and conclusions.
