Thursday Morning prayer

Always start each prayer with the sign of the cross, In the name of the

Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen. The students have all learned

this. At the end of each prayer we say Saint Mary of the Cross, Pray for

us, Amen

We have been learning about prayers of Gratitude.

Say a simple prayer of thanks. An example,

Thankyou God for water as we can drink it and water our gardens. Amen

Spelling ee words

We are learning the ee sound.

Think about words that have the ee sound e.g. bee, tree, see, three, sheep, jeep,

teeth.

Children read (sound out) the words and write them twice (in the boxes and on the

lines) under the corresponding picture. They then colour the pictures and draw

‘three green trees by a creek’.

Children colour all the words that rhyme with the picture.

Can they think of any other words that rhyme?

Write a list.

Numeracy Subtraction

We are learning about subtraction.

Talk about the words that we can use when we are subtracting – take away, minus.

Children count the total amount of objects.

They cross out what they are taking away and count how many they have left.

Science What is a Material?

Discuss with the children the term material. This does not just mean cloth; it is the

thing (substance) that something is made from. Some examples include – plastic,

brick, metal, paper, glass, fabric, wood.
