Note the Mini Cooper didn’t arrive on campus until mid-October, and was hit by snow equipment on a couple of weeks ago and is now in the repair shop.

Project Background
Value Pricing Pilot Program Project funded by FHWA and FDOT Matching funds provided by WeCar and USF PATS Project initiated during 2007 Carsharing deployed on campus August, 2009 Anticipated completion 2011
Project Objectives
Establish carsharing program at USF to reduce vehicle trips/congestion and increase use of transportation options
Develop innovative pricing mechanisms to include time of day, demand pricing and incentives
Increase the use of transit, carpool, Bull Runner, walk and bike to campus
Demonstrate use of TRAC-IT to measure travel behavior – a GPS-enabled cell phone application developed by CUTR
Dynamically Priced Carsharing
Tests innovative approaches to carshare program pricing: Tests differential pricing based on time of day/day of
week and vehicle demand Utilizes promotions and incentives Utilizes TRAC-IT developed at CUTR to track travel
behavior
TRAC-IT for Data Collection
Test and Control Groups will carry TRAC-IT to record travel behavior
Replaces paper activity diaries More accurate “Smart Diary” automates much of
the data collection process Collects route, speed, and time
