Technology In WW2
By:Kamera Trea & Bhoomie Patel
Inventions & War
RadarJets & RocketsThe Atomic Bomb
Both allied and Nazi researchers used science through technology to help them win the war.
Radar
Had the ability to see though clouds fog and darkness. Discovery of the jet stream, the speed of sound
Provided a map like image of the targets below
Map Of United States-Japan
Jets & Rockets
V1- “Buzz-Bomb” The V-1 flew by itself on a course that would take it over London and the fuel would shut off and it would glide down to explode.
V2-The rocket flew very high and then fell down on its intended target. The V-2 was a large rocket and you could see it flying in the air. “ They were remote controlled”
World War Two was the first war to use rockets –
The rockets fired from planes to trains etc as was seen so clearly in the early days after D-Day in June 1944

Atomic Bomb
Can travel 600m in 2 seconds It’s about a meter long Japan surrendered right after US dropped the bombs
Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Key TermsAtomic bomb- a bomb which is about a metre long, whose explosive
force comes from a chain reaction based on nuclear fission.Jet- a type of airplane that could fly at speeds faster than a propeller-
driven aircraftBuzz bombs- nickname for a pilotless monoplaneMonoplanes- pilotless airplanes that carried an explosive war head
also known as “buzz bombs”Radar-a device that uses electromagnetic waves reflected from ships,
aircrafts, coasts and other objects. *(these electromagnetic waves are beamed out, reflected from the target, and picked up by the radar unit)
V1-a pilotless monoplane that was used to blast places. (v1-invented by a Nazi scientist)
V2-a rocket used to blast places ( v2-invented by a German rocket scientist “Wernfer Von Braun)
