Recovery tips for troubleshooting the
Acer Laptop common issues
This might appear as disturbing news for Acer laptop users as there are some common issues with the
unstable laptop performance, often showing issues with power or with
the motherboard. Some of the laptops fail to start up at all and even if they start working they
display odd conduct.
But the most common issue the user faces with the Acer laptop is the horrifying 'black screen'. In
those cases, the problem is generally with the LCD display in
which the backlight has burnt.
For repairing such issues, what the user
has to do is to open up the monitor and replace the cold cathode tube.
Instead of attempting such repairs or taking your laptop to the experienced and qualified technicians, first make
sure that you have not simply turned off the backlight accidentally. It can be
simply done by pressing the Fn button and F6 button simultaneously. This will help in switching on and off the display backlight. While the user may also find
it useful to hold the Fn button while pressing the left and right arrow keys,
which can raise and lower the brightness of the backlight respectively.
One of the other common Acer laptop problems is with the USB port failing to connect. In such
situations, the USB ports cannot work even after the installation of
the proper drivers.
The other Acer laptop issues involve Windows unable or fail to detect the
hard drive. There can be several reasons for this, but in case if the
hard drive itself has failed, the only option left is to replace it with new
hard drive. This issue is quite different from the common 'click of
death', where a brand new hard drive making a noise of clicks, which
implies that it is not running at the proper required speed.
The other common problem has to do with the DVD burner
discontinued working, unable to burn new discs or reading the
discs that were written with the same drive earlier. In such
situations, the user might have to replace the DVD burner.
