from the City of Laurel Department of

Parks and RecreationThe City of Laurel Department of Parks and Recreation has upgraded their registration software. The new software will begin being utilized full time on Monday, March 7, 2016.

Make sure you stop in one of our community centers (Laurel Armory Anderson-Murphy Community Center located at 422 Montgomery Street or the Robert J. DiPietro Community Center located at 7901 Cypress Street) and complete a new Family Data Sheet to update your information and make registering easier in the future.

This new software will allow us to better communicate information such as upcoming events, changes, cancellations and delays. Our online registration has been upgraded, as well. Once you are entered into our system, you can utilize online registration to register for some of our programs. Check it out at: https://apm.activecommunities.com/laurelparks.

With the new software, the Department has also made some changes to their summer day camp payment policies. Deposits can no longer be accepted to secure spots; payment in full will be required for each weekly session. Once camp begins, contingent upon space availability, priority registration for the next week will be given until Tuesday of the week a child is registered for. New registrations for opening spots will not be accepted until Wednesday. There will no longer be late registration fees.

EXAMPLEIf your child is registered in Week 1, your spot is secured for Week 2 until Tuesday of Week 1, if space is available. On Wednesday of Week 1, registration becomes open to all for Week 2. This will apply to each week of summer camp.

Want to make sure your spot is secure all summer? Register early and often! Start paying for camp now to secure your spots! Once registration begins (April 18th for Residents, April 25th Non-residents) you can pay off weeks in advance. Even better, register for 4 weeks or more and receive a 10% discount on your total.

We look forward to adding you and your family to our new system!

We’ve upgraded our software system.

Example: If your child is registered in Week 1, your spot is secured for Week 2 until Tuesday of Week 1, if space is available.

Even better, register for 4 weeks or more and receive a 10% discount on your total if paid in full.

How to Kill a Good ProgramNothing kills a good program quicker than having everyone wait until the last minute to register. It takes a certain number of participants to justify offering a course, and if that minimum isn’t reached, the course gets canceled. Signing up on the day of the activity won’t resurrect it, so please...REGISTER EARLY.
