Check the packaging for these symbols and please take all plastic or metal bottle caps off, thanks! Thankfully a lot more people are recycling these days but please spare a thought for Steve and I by following the tips below. NO Plastic bags – While carrying your mixed recycling in a plastic bag saves you time, it means that if it arrives at the recycling facility this way, most of it does not get recovered. Please take the time to separate your recyclables for a better long term solution. NO Disposable nappies – they cannot be recycled! Please place into your main rubbish bin. NO Broken glass or crockery – it cannot be recycled. Please carefully dispose in your main rubbish bin. NO Sharps – these are dangerous – please dispose of any needles or syringes in special sharps bins. Ask your local council for more info. NO Asbestos – please do not place ANY material containing asbestos in your recycling bins - it will contaminate all the contents and will need to be sent to landfill. Please contact your local skip provider instead.
