The LocationLogan County, located in northeast Colorado, is a diversified agriculture, industrial and service based community. Sterling, the largest city and region’s commercial hub for 60,000 people, is a short two hour drive hour drive from Denver via Interstate 76. Residents enjoy a high quality of life combined with affordable housing.
Sterling is more affordable than the national average and significantly more so than Colorado’s Front Range.
The EconomyLogan County’s diversified economy brings in almost a billion dollars a year in sales from agriculture, retail, health care and professional services. The labor force works in health services (largest industry segment), followed by retail trade, government,
accommodation and food services jobs The largest employer in the area is the Sterling Correctional Facility, which is the biggest prison in the Colorado Department of Corrections systems and employs over eight hundred people.
An advantage for businesses and residents is Logan County’s broad-band access. Unlike many other rural areas, the county is equipped with an extensive broadband network with gigabit fiber throughout the community; the majority of the Sterling area has the option to receive gigabit fiber directly to their door. Sterling has greater broadband access and internet capacity than some of the Denver metropolitan areas. Historical and cultural amenities in the community make Sterling a distinctive place to live or visit. Downtown is a designated national historic district with buildings from the 1800’s to early 1900s still in use. Logan County offers affordable living combined with competitive advantages for business and a high quality of life. Downtown revitalization has resulted in new community vibrancy over 25 new businesses including boutiques, restaurants, a microbrewery, arts cooperative – and next step to complete additional second floor residences. And we’re less than two hours drive away from DIA and the Front Range.
