REEDNet brings together England's land based colleges to provide scientific, technical and management development for all aspects of the rural, regional and local economy, specialising in agriculture and land management, the food industry, animal science, land-based engineering and the environmental sector

• Worked with 165 businesses for the first time

• Trained 2,427 people employed or self-employed in the sector

• Most were from small businesses

• To ensure that assessors understand the legal and scientific basis for the accreditation requirements and that the standards are consistently applied.

Animal Medicines Training and Regulatory Authority

“An independent regulatory body whose task it is to ensure that the marketing and distribution of animal medicines in the UK

is undertaken in a responsible manner by AMTRA qualified persons”.

AMTRA• In UK anybody involved in the distribution and marketing of

animal medicines must be a ‘Suitably Qualified Person’ (SQP).• Harper Adams responsible for development of teaching

materials and assessment nationally. Also acts as a training centre.

• Successful trainees qualify for AMTRA professional Certificate that is HE credit rated (35 credits).

• Over 1000 trainees each year.
