Many bridge players, neighbors, friends & family celebrated a

90th birthday party for Marie Daley held at the Twisted Tu-

sic enjoyed by all. A big thank you to her wonderful family

for such a great afternoon celebrating this beautiful lady.

The Cambridge Bridge Club meets Mondays at 1pm. For more info contact Marj Drew at 546-6023 or Maureen Dalton at 546-5757.

Shuffleboard practice will begin October 2 & 3 and then every Monday and Tuesday throughout October. Games start No-vember 1. We’re always looking for new players - no experi-ence necessary. Come join us - it’s lots of fun! The combination to the lock on the shuffleboard closet is posted on the bulletin board outside of the office.

Disaster Readiness for Pets Remember, during a disaster what’s good for you is good for your pet. If you leave your pets behind, they may be lost, injured – or worse. Never leave a pet chained outdoors.

Build a kit that includes basic survival items and items to keep your pet happy and comfortable.

Food. At least a three day supply in an airtight, water-proof container.

Water. At least three days of water specifically for your pets.

Medicines and medical records.

Important documents. Registration information, adop-tion papers and vaccination documents. Talk to your veterinarian about microchipping and enrolling your pet in a recovery database.

First aid kit. Cotton bandage rolls, bandage tape and scissors; antibiotic ointment; flea and tick prevention; latex gloves, isopropyl alcohol and saline solution. In-cluding a pet first aid reference book is a good idea too.

Collar or harness with ID tag, rabies tag and a leash.

Crate or pet carrier. Have a sturdy, safe crate or carrier in case you need to evacuate. The carrier should be large enough for your pet to stand, turn around and lie down.

Sanitation. Pet litter and litter box if appropriate, news-papers, paper towels, plastic trash bags and household chlorine bleach.

A picture of you and your pet together. If you become separated, a picture of you and your pet together will help you document ownership and allow others to assist you. Add species, breed, age, sex, color and distinguish-ing characteristics.

Familiar items. Familiar items, such as treats, toys and bedding can help reduce stress for your pet.

Illig Memorial There will be a memorial service for Howard Illig on Saturday, November 4 at 11:30pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Cove Road, Port Salerno. A luncheon will follow at the Cam-bridge Clubhouse.

October Neighborhood Crime Watch Well it looks like we have settled down from hurricane Irma but it may be that another problem might exist as a result. Don’t be fooled by people canvassing the neighborhood tell-ing you that they could pick you your yard, trim broken limbs, fix your damaged porch, or just about anything else that can be seen from the rood. They generally ask for cash up front and never finish or do shoddy work. If you need work call someone you or your neighbors have had previous experience with. You should also never open your door for anyone that claims they are representing FPL, or any other utility. There has been some question as to scammers and thieves roaming around just wanting to get inside your home. If you feel threatened by their visit, call 911 and tell them you are frightened and would like a sheriff to come help you. Stay safe Joe Chippari
