Copying directly from someone else’s work or ideas without acknowledgement
Paraphrasing someone else’s work or ideas without acknolwedgement
Taking someone else’s ideas without acknowledgement

• What about copying “just a wee bit” from your friend’s work?
• Can you collaborate with a friend on a piece of work?
• What about taking an article from a trade journal and changing the words around?
In -Text Citations
General Rules from Harvard
With quotations,” if a quote is less than a line it may be included in the body of the text in quotation marks”
Longer quotations are indented and single-spaced and quotation marks not required
For citations of particular parts of the document the page numbers etc. should be given after the year in parentheses. (British Standards institution 1989,p2).
