Dear Parishioners:
Jesus encourages us, like the poor widow, to persevere in prayer. Prayer leads the way, the way to Jesus and the Kingdom of God. Usually we learn to "persevere in prayer” the hard way. We are exhausted, hungry and weak. We need help!
We look to our relationships with the Holy Trinity, the Angels and Saints and to those around us for the help we need. In the first reading, Moses’ hands got tired - Yes, but he did not stop praying until the victory was won. For the early Christians, persecution from many sides was destroying their peaceful community. They turned to constant prayer, learning the power of reliance upon God, understanding the many ways of prayer.
Prayer opens our hearts to God's undeserved love and mercy. Prayer opens our minds to be filled with confidence and courage - Yes, even in the face of death. We become ever more aware of the needs of others. Let us continue to be "Mercy in Motion!" Thank You for participating in the family of God.
Blessings upon you, Fr. Gabriel

GRACE 2.0 Our parish leaders move forward with plans to enhance our audio and visual capacities at SJW. What we offer will be delivered with greater clarity for joyful and participatory worship. How we celebrate our liturgy will continue to expand through the musical gifts of many ministers, creative hospitality gifts and the creative talking points of our Theme Teams. As our gospel story reminds us: Mercy never quits. It persists over all the bumps in the road, across raging waters, and through mediocrity and indifference. It forever invites and welcomes, gives thanks and rejoices. We celebrate God’s presence in our midst with hands and hearts of mercy.
