I saw myself in the mirror.I looked at myself for a long time.

A reflexive pronoun is used as theobject of a verb or preposition whenthe subject of the sentence and theobject are the same person.

- Yes.- Are you sure?- Yes. I myself faxed the report to him.- I faxed the report to him myself.

Reflexive pronouns are also used for

emphasis.

Reflexive / Intensive Pronouns : the "self" pronouns

These pronouns can be used only toreflect or intensify a word already there.

Reflexive/intensive pronouns CANNOTREPLACE personal pronouns.

Examples:I saw myself in the mirror. (Myself is a

reflexive pronoun, reflecting the pronoun I.)

I’ll do it myself. (Myself is an intensive pronoun, intensifying the pronoun I.)
