DAY 3Virginia Global Response Church Strengthening Ministry Intern Scholarships

DAY 1Seminarian Scholarships

God so loved the World! SBC of Virginia churches are working together to reach Virginia and beyond with the Gospel. We are using God-given opportunities to meet human needs that will allow us to share the Gospel message. Pray for God to move even more churches to join together to reach the lost in places like Greece, Barcelona, and Nepal… and beyond!

DAY 2 DAY 4

Often times the best way to tap into a person’s spiritual need is to first aim to meet some of their physical needs. SBC of Virginia churches did just that through Christmas Backpacks for Appalachia. Churches collected nearly 1,500 backpacks for impoverished children in Appalachia. Inside each of the backpacks was a Gospel track and other items such as clothes and food.

This effort, combined with those of other Baptist churches throughout the South, was responsible for reaching a total of 46,112 children in need with not only physical aid, but also the Gospel this past Christmas season.

Tens of thousands of refugees are trying to cross the border between Greece and Macedonia. Just about every refugee trying to enter Europe is being funneled through the one border crossing near the town of Idomeni, Greece. Many of these people, mostly from the Middle East, are leaving family, homes, and occupations to search for a life without war, turmoil, and the threat of death.

The SBC of Virginia is sending mission teams and resources to this border camp and other camps for the foreseeable future. SBCV is also working with Liberty University and its newly created LU Send NOW to help facilitate student volunteers who will serve on the front lines as soon as February.

Your Vision Virginia contributions help us partner together to provide refugees with food, water, clothes, and the most important thing: HOPE that comes in knowing the Prince of Peace… Jesus Christ. Vision Virginia only exists because people do. People

who need to hear the Gospel, and people who serve in churches all across the state. God loves people, and His mission is to love, serve, and disciple them to look more like Him every day.

What isVISION VIRGINIA?

Videos, resources, & more online:sbcv.org/visionvirginia

Virginia is a mission field to be sure. But the churches of the SBC of Virginia can be an awesome mission force to reach not only locally but also around the globe. It’s allowing God to open our eyes to opportunities through an Acts 1:8 strategy.

Vision Virginia is the people.

Vision Virginia is reaching the WORLD.

Students yielding to the call of ministry and who are completing their seminary education can benefit from this incredible financial resource. Pray that God will work through these gifts to encourage His ministers in their formal training.

No matter the church health status, whether starting, growing, running steady, plateauing, declining, or closing its doors, all congregations need our prayers. Pray for ministry leaders to be encouraged and equipped to carry the mission that God has for their local body of believers.

This scholarship provides assistance to churches who benefit from a ministry intern. Pray for church leaders as they invest in the next generation and for ministry interns as they gain valuable experience and faithfully serve.

Vision Virginia is a missions offering.

Vision Virginia is also a call to pray.

Similar to Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong, 100% of the gifts given through Vision Virginia go directly to the mission field. The fund supports dozens of ministries, including the things that are listed in the eight Days of Prayer.

It is a call to pray for these ministries and the work of the Lord around Virginia and the world.

DAY 7Church Planting Appalachian Ministries Food Distribution

DAY 5Disaster Relief

DAY 6 DAY 8

Bill Miller and a team of Baptist Builders volunteers from The Tabernacle in Danville have given countless hours and talent to help convert a 120,000 square foot warehouse into a new church facility. Miller credits his wife, Becky, for encouraging him to volunteer. Becky lost her battle with cancer in April 2015, and while it has been a difficult time in Bill’s life, he continues to serve others. “I think God has helped me with my own vision as He helps the vision at Community Fellowship.”

This once warehouse will soon be the ministry location for The Community Fellowship in Collinsville. It’s made possible thanks to Baptist Builders - an SBC of Virginia ministry team made up of experts who renovate and build to church needs across Virginia - funded by Vision Virginia.

Bedrock Lynchburg began in September of 2015 with a vision to Create a Culture and Continue a Legacy of the Gospel. In the past five months there have been 10 Baptisms, several community outreach projects, 14 Small Groups started, and new ministry teams focused on local missions and global church planting.

One of these Baptisms was a young man named Jacob. Jacob is a Lynchburg native who came to Bedrock during a season of extreme personal battles with drug addiction. In October, Jacob surrendered his life to Jesus and has been clean for the past four months. Each week Jacob walks the streets of Lynchburg to tell others about how Jesus changed his life. He is a reminder to us of Jesus’ love and grace.

2016 Week of Prayer & Offering for Missions

This is one of the core values of the SBC of Virginia. This convention is committed to penetrating lostness through church planting. Pray that God will bless new planters and that He will continue to provide new partnerships from churches.

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is the third largest responding agency in North America! Praise God for all of the Virginia volunteers trained and ready to respond. Pray that God will raise up many others to be equipped for the next disaster.

This region of America is extremely impoverished. Families lack the basic supplies that many others take for granted everyday. Pray that God will continue to work through SBC of Virginia churches with mission projects like Christmas Backpacks for Appalachia.

Many churches prepare and share meals each month with impoverished families in their communities. The Vision Virginia offering partially supports these efforts. Pray that our hearts will burden for those who go hungry and that God will bless our efforts.
