Dear Parents & students,

We have a wide selection of activities which will focus on the 6 IDeALs and the 16 Identities of global Citizenship for round square Week, which will be held from the 13th to 17th of January 2014. these activities focus on developing life-long skills that will allow our students to become productive, well-rounded global citizens and to help others to be the best they can be.

For each activity, you will find a brief description of what is involved within it. Please note the specific Year group(s) that are welcome to take part in the activity and any cost or equipment (if required) and the deposit that needs to be paid as soon as possible. You are welcome to contact the teacher in charge of the activity for further details.

We encourage students to reflect on everything they do in their daily lives. the global Citizenship Identities on the top right hand corner of each activity are there to pinpoint them towards which ones they are likely to achieve by taking part. We also encourage all parents to look through the booklet and select the activities with their children for round square Week thinking about how and why a certain activity or project may challenge them and enable them to personally reflect and target set at the same time.

Please ensure all activities are selected and the form returned to the form tutors or the round square Office by Friday 1st november 2013.

A deposit has to be made to secure students’ places on any activities and please do understand that preferences will be given to those students who have paid them.

If there are any questions at all about round square Week or the global Citizenship Award please feel free to contact me at any time: [email protected]

Ingredients

10there comes a time in everyone’s lives when we have to grow up and fend for ourselves! this often happens when we leave school and head off to University.

One important skill for University is to be able to cook wholesome and nutritional food on a meagre budget. this course will teach you some of the basic skills required to cook healthy and filling meals, thus enabling you to survive the rigours of University life.

the best bit is: you get to eat what you make!
