ABOUT THE HOST CHAPTERSSHPE Florida International UniversityOver the past 22 years, SHPE FIU has grown from an organization of ten members to an organization of over 200 active members. In fact, in 2010, we were the largest engineering student organization at FIU.

To attest to our quality, we were voted to the category of ‘Outstanding Club’ at FIU from 1994 through 1998 and have won the Region VII Science Bowl and have placed third at the National Science Bowl. We continue to be one of the most awarded SHPE chapters in the the nation.

SHPE University of MiamiSHPE started at UM with the purpose to prepare STEM majors professionally and give students the opportunity to land their dream job. Our SHPE chapter has been blessed with great opportunities, supportive faculty members, and motivated students. Together we have created a dynamic and dedicated family.

As a chapter, we have been growing rapidly, both in numbers and in dedication to our newly found familia. Our members continue to live by the five pillars of SHPE and our leaders have evolved into the strong men and women that will revolutionize the world in the upcoming years. They have exposed themselves to a variety of different challenges and opportunities which have enhanced their soft skills and professional skills.

SHPE Miami Dade CollegeHas been active since its inception in 2015. It was then that our first president Raul la Rosa was impressed by the impact SHPE had had with many of his friends in the FIU and UM Chapters by helping them organize their career, build a strong professional presence and even earn internships at Boeing, IBM and Goldman Sachs as programmers/developers at the time.

Given that the location of our campus is at the heart of Hialeah, we understood from the beginning the importance of bringing SHPE’s legacy home not only to the students but also to the local community at large. We look forward to fulfilling our potential and to help others achieve theirs through the upcoming RLDC and beyond.

SHPE South Florida Professional ChapterSHPE SOFL was officially founded in 2003. We developed a network and created opportunities/relationships with STEM professionals in the South Florida area and currently have over 50 active members! We aim for a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians and engineers. The chapter continues to strengthen the professional presence in South Florida area and further enhance SHPE’s vision and mission.
