and regulation, and learn to facilitate parent participation throughout the process. An additional training day focusing on the unique needs of a CPSE is
provided separately. THIS IS A 5 DAY TRAINING!

Understanding the Implementation of the Integrated Co-teaching (ICT) Model Series
The Co-teaching series was created to support evidence-based practices and to support student outcomes for those in the ICT placement. Each module
focuses on a specific skill set required to develop an effective co-teaching team of teachers.
− Module 1: What Administrators Need to Know about ICT
This workshop will familiarize both the building administrator and the special education administrator with the models for co-taught classrooms, how
to integrate the co-taught models into teacher observation, and dealing with challenges of creating/choosing the co-teaching teacher team. This module
will also provide resources that will be useful for professional development in their buildings to foster the co-teaching models. It is strongly
encouraged that building administrators and special education administrators attend this workshop as a team.

− Creating IEP Coaches in Your District
This workshop is designed to build capacity within districts so that they can provide ongoing support for their special education teachers in developing
key sections of the IEP. Districts should send individuals from each building who will be trained to coach their peers in developing the core
components of the IEP (PLP statements, measurable goals, test accommodations, and the basics of progress monitoring). Participants will be given a
copy of all materials on flash drives so that they will have the resources to share with their colleagues during the coaching process. This is a two day
training that combines learning information about IEP development with how to bring back this information to the district. THIS IS A 2 DAY

− Developing Measurable Goals for the Preschool IEP
There will be a specific focus on the developmental level of the preschool population and developing goals appropriate to their learning tasks.
Participants are asked to bring a few of their students’ IEPs with identifying information removed for use in the workshop activities.
− Educational Benefit for Administrators
This workshop provides districts with a process for reviewing IEPs to analyze links between assessment data, Present Levels of Performance (PLP),
measurable goals, program modifications, and recommend programs and services. The analysis allows district to determine whether there is evidence
that a student is progressing appropriately, and therefore receiving educational benefit from the IEP. Districts are asked to bring copies of a student’s
IEP for 3consecutive years to use during activities.
− Monitoring Progress of Preschool IEP Goals
This training will provide the information and tools for participants to develop the skills to measure the progress preschool students make toward their
goals. These skills will include: examining systematic procedures for the collection and analysis of student performance data (academic and
nonacademic IEP goals) and how to use this data to make instructional decisions.
− Running Effective CPSE/CSE Meetings
This workshop will provide CPSE/CSE chairpersons with an in depth look at the skills, tools and procedures that will help them lead the team to
positive outcomes for students. We will reflect on the language of regulations that suggest some perspective on the procedures for meetings as well as

− Talking with your Child about his/her Disability
This workshop will prepare parents to explain the impact of disability to their child. We will cover the communication skills needed for parents to
have this discussion when a child’s disability includes cognitive, language and emotional components. This workshop is co-taught with the Parent
Center trainer.
− CSE/CPSE Parent Member Training
This training will provide CSE/CPSE parent members a better understanding of: their role (including the function of the Committees), knowledge of
basic vocabulary, understanding of laws and regulations, and communication skills to use during committee meetings. The workshop is co-taught with
the Long Island Parent Center trainer.
