Register Mobile supports Android tablets down to a 7-inch screen size with no upper limit and running Android 4.22 and above. However, we do like to certify and internally test hardware. Register Mobile Barcode ScannersTo enable barcode scanning for MPOS you will need a wireless Bluetooth enabled scanner. Any barcode scanner that supports SPP (Serial Packet Protocol) should operate fine. If your scanner is not listed here and it supports Bluetooth & SPP, please contact us to discuss it being tested and added to the certified list. However, we would recommend you use one of the certified options.

Card Payment & CashWith Register Mobile, you can tender card and cash just as you would in-store. Cash management needs consideration, e.g. a mobile cash box/draw or cash belt. Card payment is provided by a mobile and Bluetooth payment device such as the Miura M10 or Verifone E355. This could be stored in your pocket, or attached on a belt or to the back of the tablet. Register is integrated with Verifone Ocius, Payworks, Secure Retail Paytrans, Anderson Zaks Red card and Aevi. Integrated payment facilitates for the tender amount to be automatically transferred to the card reader. Non-integrated works fine also, however you will need to enter the tender amount on the payment device.

PrintingRegister Mobile supports any printer with the ESCPOS proto-col and the Star range of printers. There are options for receipt width, label printing and connectivity. There are two main use scenarios for printing with MPOS. For field-based sales a mobile printer is often chosen. For in-store, either a mobile printer or a fixed base station printer are options. In-store often it is convenient to have the printer at a bagging and de-tagging station.

ConnectivityThe tablet, printer and barcode scanner are connected via Bluetooth and they communicate to the internet via WI-FI for a store environment or cellular data (e.g. 3G,5G) for an out of store environment. For cellular communication, the tablet will either need internal GSM connectivity with a SIM card, or be connected to a mobile phone or Mi-FI unit with a data connection. Register Mobile itself does not need a connection to operate. It requires an initial connection to be set up and a connection to send data back. You can operate offline for extended periods and the data will be transferred to the portal when the tablet gets connected. For card payment, you will need to ensure your device is set up for offline payments or have a connection available.
