THE IGINITON KEY FROM REGITECH

Say hello to the new Regitech ignition key. This super little solid metal USB stick holds all of our Power Registrations and Core voice pack. An incredible 4gb of storage space allows you to add your own registrations as well as ours.

It is amazing how much data you can store on this key and being “key” shaped, you can put it onto your keys and the next time you visit a friend and want to play a few songs for them, just pop in your “Ignition” key and away you go. Priced at just £44.99 this unique key is not only an attractive bit of kit, but also gives you all of the Power Registrations that we have created.

For those of you who like to mix and match your registrations we have a competition to win one of these keys. Simply upload your best registrations onto our website (email us if you think you will have problems doing this) and the best set of registrations will win a new Ignition key!

Best of all, we will include your registrations in our main part of our website to share with other members and you will receive a winners certificate! Email your registrations to us or upload via our login area!

THE SONG LIST...

SITTING COMFORTABLY... THEN I WILL BEGINEver get the feeling that a song can go on and on and on..Well a song created by the band "SLEEP" of all things, wrote a song called“Dopesmoker” which is 1 hour and 3 minutes long! A bigger music rest will beneeded!

If we had a peanut for the number of times we had been asked “what song can I play with this registration...” we would have one very big bag of peanuts!

So in each edition we will include a song list that works perfectly with our registration sets. Some of our registrations are created with a song in mind and of course, we try to title the file with the song name, but in some cases the name can be too long or just impossible to add. So our “SONG LIST” will give you the song titles and an idea of

others that can be made to fit.

This will be a handy feature for those of you who like to play medleys or flick from one song to another.

We are always looking for song titles to create registrations around and if you have one you would like us to work on, tell us!

Our club is based on listening to our members and if you want to be more active, just drop us an email, remember, we don’t bite and you will get the registrations you want.

Some of the registrations we are currently working on are:

Big band and swing Electonic Pop The 80’s The 60’s

If you have any other suggestions - please get in touch!

Playing by ear...

We read a lot of organ forums and come across a lot of questions about how to play by ear. Some say that it can be done with practice, some say it is a gift that you are born with.

Here at Regitech we can all play by ear, and we have a view on this. Primarily, yes, it is a gift that you are born with. Some people can sit at a piano and just play song after song without the aid of music. Some people really struggle to find the first note.

So, to start you off, we have a few tips that you will find useful.

Do’s

Always try to work out the melody using the key of C.Avoid using black notes as this doubles your chances of getting it wrong.

Most melodies start with a major key, so notes such as C, E, G are a great place to start.

For example Eastender’s theme starts with C and then moves upC D E F G A - F

Coronation Street ThemeE D C D A F - again starts with E

Can’t help falling in love with you - Elvis

C G C.. D E F E D - again starts with C

Our first tip when playing by ear would be to start with these notes and move up or down in steps of 1 or 2 notes to find your next melody note.

We will have a little more information in our first podcast which will be on-line soon.

More in our next edition.
