Using these head and tailstock turning devices the components can be optimally positioned to the robot and can be controlled separately as 7th and 8th external robot axis as before. Additional axes transformation allows synchronous movement of the freely programmable peripheral axes in path operating mode to the robot which ensures that the welding torch moves at constant speed.

Innovative welding systems with robots Reis Compact Welding Cell RV10-6 with 2 freely programmable additional axes

The welding cell is designed as completely enclosed cabin allowing economical robotic welding even for short production runs. The movable cell with the Reis welding robot RV10-6, the high-capacity control RobotStarV and the 2 freely programmable additional axes is mounted ready for operation and can be used immediately. All supply, exhaust and safety devices are integrated in the cell, so that additional expensive peripheral equipment will not be necessary. Floor space requirement of the compact cell is only 10 m2.

The cell consists of a 6-axis Reis vertical articulated arm robot, which may be arranged upright or suspended overhead. The low-maintenance RV10-6 has a payload capacity of 6 kg and a repeatability of 0.05 mm and was designed for complex path tasks. Due to the rigid construction with enclosed drive elements this robot is also suitable for extreme operating conditions.Robot and rotary table are mounted on a common transport frame. The complete safety cabin is also mounted on this transport frame.

The manual rotary table additionally is equipped with 2 mounted head and tailstock turning devices with a distance between tips of 1.200 mm and a payload of 100 kg.Using these head and tailstock turning devices the components can be optimally positioned to the robotand can be controlled separately as 7th and 8th external robot axis as before.

Additional axes transformation allows synchronous movement of the freely programmable peripheral axes in path operating mode to the robot which ensures that the welding torch moves at constant speed.

While the robot is welding work pieces in one station, finished parts can be unloaded at the other station and new raw parts can be loaded. The installation also offers the possibility to weld different components in alternating stations. This results in high flexibility with high production capacity, low operating costs and easy programming at the same time.

Due to an integrated inquiry of the table position towards the robot, even different programs may be processed on either side. This ensures highest possible flexibility. Due to a special bearing of the workpiece carrier plate, it can be moved with hardly any force efforts, so that the operator won't be strained.

With this rotary table concept, a complicated and expensive safety equipment may be renounced. Light barriers, step mats, swing doors and 2-hand operations thus can be omitted.

Thus, Euro-pallets or skeleton containers with the individual parts or finished parts now can be stored in the direct proximity of the rotary table in the worker's work envelope.

It is ensured that the incurring ancillary times will be reduced to a minimum.
