SAINTS PETER AND PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH OCTOBER 31 – NOVEMBER 1, 2015

UPCOMING EVENTS

November 7: Auxiliary Gathering following 1st

Saturday Mass

Sunday, November 15th - 9:45am, Legion

members will teach CCD students how to pray the

Divine Mercy Chaplet

December 7 and 8: Masses for Immaculate

Conception - Jubilee Year of Mercy

Legion members will be available before and

after all Masses to teach everyone how to pray

the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and do the Novena

that starts on Good Friday every year and ends on

Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday. Divine

Mercy Sunday is the Sunday after Easter. We hope

and pray that the entire Parish Family will join us

that day to pray for God’s Mercy for the World.

In the month of November, we pray especially for

the souls of our departed loved ones and all the

souls in purgatory and we offer here the

following prayer for daily recitation throughout

the year (not just in the month of November):

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious

Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the

Masses said throughout the world today, for all

the holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners

everywhere, for sinners in the universal

Church, those in my own home and within my

family. Amen.”

Legend has it that Our Lord told St. Gertrude the

Great that each time this prayer is said, 1,000

souls in purgatory would be elevated.

Father Peyton coined the beautiful phrase “the

family that prays together, stays together”, which

has been proven over the decades to be quite

true, even in these times of unrest!

God bless all!
